Virtus.pro reach Stage 3 over paiN

Virtus.pro will be among the top 16 despite their troubles in 2025.

Virtus.pro have bested paiN in two maps in their best-of-three matchup in the 2-0 pool, securing a spot in Stage 3 after a straightforward run through Stage 2.

Despite entering the BLAST.tv Austin Major with a trail of poor results throughout the year and limited expectations, Denis "⁠electroNic⁠" Sharipov's men have looked fierce at the Major, annihilating OG and B8 before moving past paiN.

Virtus.pro got off to a slow start on their pick of Dust2, enduring a 1-5 deficit that the Russian side soon clawed back to a 6-6 half on the offense despite Lucas "⁠nqz⁠" Soares's efforts.

A pistol round win allowed Virtus.pro to wrest control of the lead, but paiN continued to keep the match close. In the end, Virtus.pro managed to get Dust2 over the line thanks to crucial kills from Evgenii "⁠FL1T⁠" Lebedev in his Mid and A holds.

Although Virtus.pro kicked off paiN's pick of Mirage with a CT pistol win, electroNic's troops had a difficult time getting online in the first half, piecing together a 5-7 scoreline only after a 1v2 clutch from Timur "⁠FL4MUS⁠" Marev.

Virtus.pro managed to eclipse paiN in rounds with yet another pistol victory, but the second half quickly devolved into a back-and-forth affair that eventually dragged the map into overtime. Despite missing out on a win in regulation due to a 1v2 from João "⁠snow⁠" Vinicius, Virtus.pro made good use of the extra rounds to secure a 16-13 victory.
