Lucaozy benches himself on MIBR: "My game didn't fit with the role I was playing"

Role changes due to an overlap with insani saw Lucaozy post a 0.95 rating during his time in MIBR.

Lucas "⁠Lucaozy⁠" Neves has moved himself to the MIBR bench, the team have confirmed

"I made this decision before the major after a lot of thought," Lucaozy began in a post on X. "Despite several attempts to adapt, I realized that my game didn't fit the best with the role I was playing in the team's system.

"As a result, my performance was below what I expected. I tried to find myself and adapt several times in the space I had, and I believe that in this Major I was able to demonstrate a little of the player I know I am."

Lucaozy replaces brnz4n on MIBR

Lucaozy had been a long-term target for MIBR, having first been approached by the team in 2022 before completing a controversial move in 2024.

The emergence of academy graduate Felipe "⁠insani⁠" Yuji, however, meant that when Lucaozy arrived, his preferred spacetaker positions were already filled.

As a lurker with mixed CT roles, Lucaozy struggled in MIBR and posted a below-par 0.95 rating over a nine-month spell for the team.

MIBR, despite being informed of his decision beforehand, managed to eliminate Falcons in Austin with Lucaozy playing a key role in the upset. After that thriller, the team was eliminated by FaZe to end the Major in 17th-19th.

Lucaozy's self-benching represents the fourth personnel change of the year for the team, after already trading coaches twice and swapping André "⁠drop⁠" Abreu for Breno "⁠brnz4n⁠" Poletto in February.
