Overpass replaces Anubis in Active Duty map pool

Valve has made a change to the map pool just a week ahead of the start of IEM Cologne.

Valve has released a substantial update coinciding with the start of Premier Season Three, most notably reintroducing Overpass into the map pool in place of Anubis. Additionally, the CT side has received changes relating to the economy, the MP9, and incendiary grenades.

This update brings the first change to the competitive map pool since the beginning of the year, when Valve introduced a new-look Train in place of Vertigo ahead of the start of the 2025 season.

Overpass, previously a dominant fixture in the map pool during CS:GO, has made its return to Active Duty in CS2 after getting set aside for Dust2 in April 2024. Anubis now moves out of Active Duty for the first time since its introduction to the competitive map pool in November 2022.

In addition to the map pool change, Valve also announced adjustments to the CT-side economy, introducing a "shared team award" that provides players with "$50 for each T eliminated in a round." This new cash bonus occurs irrespective of whether the CTs win or lose the given round.

Additional changes have also been made to the CT-side arsenal. The CT incendiary grenade has been buffed to "spread fire more rapidly," somewhat compensating for a May 2024 nerf, while the MP9 will now have "increased recoil magnitude and substantially reduced jumping accuracy."

Finally, Valve has also announced the addition of a feature that allows users to "revoke all Counter-Strike item trades from the last 7 days" to combat scammers.
