Legacy, M80, FlyQuest, ECSTATIC complete BLAST Open London team list

The four squads won their respective regional BLAST Rising competitions to earn a spot.

Legacy have carried their good from from BLAST.tv Austin Major into the new season

With the conclusion of the regional BLAST Premier Rising events in South America, North America, Europe and Asia, the team list for BLAST Open London 2025 is now complete.

Legacy, M80, FlyQuest and ECSTATIC will join a raft of the best sides in the world, including all of the current top four in HLTV's ranking, for the online portion of the event from August 27-September 1.

The 16 teams in attendance will be split across two groups of eight and play out a double-elimination BO3 bracket, with the top three teams from each group heading to London for the LAN final from September 5-7.

Legacy enjoyed a clean run through their qualifying event, Ace SA Masters Season 2, taking down Galorys, Sharks and Imperial without dropping a map to secure their berth. This followed their qualification for ESL Pro League S22, continuing their good form since returning from the player break.

Likewise M80 made short work of their qualification campaign, besting Supernova Comets, Marsborne and most notably NRG, all in 2-0 fashion. M80 have been in good form regionally since adding Jadan "HexT" Postma in July, with this being their third online event in a row they have won without dropping a map.

ECSTATIC had a far harder time of things in the European qualifier, RES Showdown 2, needing all three maps to take down Zero Tenacity, fnatic and VP.Prodigy to secure their BLAST Open spot.

OK (BLAST no longer has a prestigious event after spending years trying to make Copenhagen work, only to give it up for whatever all of this is)

Literally the big tournaments now are the Majors and all the ESL events. BLAST went from turning Copenhagen into a household name alongside Kato/Krakow and Cologne to being a second rate event like PGL ain'tnoway

Yeah because PGL has actually been cooking whenever their arena plans dont go up in smoke. I remember a Barcelona, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo + another Belgrade. Where are they, PGL?

Ok in 2025, Many events have been changed, I will give you a rundown. PGL moved Buneos Aires to Cluj Napoca. Behind the scenes reason from what I remember was 1) when they went to check the venue, it was not up to par with was had been promised to them. 2) it was supposed to be hosted after katowice, so most people just wouldn't travel there. Reasonable because LAN games are still LAN BLAST Rivals was supposed to be hosted in Monetary, it was shifted to BLAST Copenhagen studios. Reasons: 1) Same Logistical difficulties as PGL Buneos Aires. 2) It was supposed to be held after Melbourne, so again travel issues. Reasonable, because LAN games are still LAN. BLAST changed group stage of BLAST Open London to be online instead of LAN at BLAST Copenhagen studios. Reason: Idk I heard somewhere that the top teams wanted it to be this way. This is bad because online games are useless for VRS especially if the group stage has LAN spots as prize money. ESL has made EPL group stages be online in the future in 2026, this is bad, but does not effect us in 2025. PGL moved Belgared to Bucharest studio. Reason: A tennis tournament was supposed to be held in the same arena where Belgared was supposed to be held, so it got cancelled. Atleast it is still a LAN event. These are the only moved events for 2025. There are some other VRS bs and exceptions from valve which are bad, but i won't get into those.

In addition to what you stated, PGL were partnered with FiReLEAGUE for all of the SA events (Buenos Aires was the only one in 2025) and that partnership seems to have completely fallen apart.

Liquid lost quickly to Jame's academy team, it's not even mentioned in the article. These kids don't even have enough cash to get a haircut: hltv.org/player/24951/triborgg1

Solid article, only thing is in the subheading under the photo you put “carrying their good from from Blast.TV” which I guess is supposed to be form. Other than that, great article

Legacy is way to good to be playing in Brazil but not good enough to play the tier s tournaments, they are on a limbo.

Maybe they took a nice break to get ready to make the final push for getting to number 1 in 2025 or they don't like London, this is also understandable: youtube.com/watch?v=bRBZw4IU8rg
