BLAST Bounty Season 2 teams, format, schedule, prizes, talent, fantasy

A whopping 32 teams are set to compete for the BLAST Bounty Season 2 trophy.

Teams and Format

BLAST Bounty Season 2 is split into two stages: an online stage played on Europe servers, and a LAN finals stage played in Malta. 32 teams will participate in the online stage, where two BO3s will be played out and the teams that win both series qualify for the LAN finals.

The twist to the BLAST Bounty format is that the teams with lower opening seeds (17-32) selected their opponents in a draft, with each higher-ranked squad having a designated cash reward placed on their heads.

The eight teams that qualify from the online stage will head to Malta for the LAN finals, where they will play out a single-elimination BO3 bracket, with BO5 grand final, to determine the winner of the event.

The team list is as follows:

Schedule and venue

The online portion of the event will take place August 5-10 in Europe, with the LAN finals going down August 14-17 in Malta. You can view the full schedule for the online portion or the LAN finals on our event pages.

Prizes

Instead of traditional prize money, teams can earn "bounties" by beating teams with assigned bounties. Each team in attendance will be assigned a "bounty" corresponding to their seeding in the event, with a winning team securing 50% of their opponent's bounty as a cash prize, while the remaining 50% is carried over to the next match and gets added to the winning team's total bounty.

To see how much prize money teams might earn, you can use BLAST's bounty simulator.

OK (BLAST no longer has a prestigious event after spending years trying to make Copenhagen work, only to give it up for whatever all of this is)

a general question. Is playing online somehow more comfortable for players because they get to play from home/bootcamp or are these online portions only so the TO saves money?

i mean online is for sure more comfortable for the lower tier teams since they have 0 pressure from outside the game (crowd cheering/booing, new environment (LAN)), overall being in a comfortable environment for them at home which is why online there are more upsets usually about your other question whether to save money, no idea for this tournament tbh didnt follow much

I think is because Cologne just end yesterday and this start tomorrow. Probably top teams will skip it if they need to travel

Travel from Cologne to Copenhagen would be easier than traveling to bootcamp/home for probably all teams in the tournament

Well falcons decline for kyousuke visa. Dk how that work tho

Maybe considaration to orgs, imagine that underdogs like NRG and Passion UA would need to pay travel expanses, go through getting VISA, just to play 1 match to get f*cked by Top team and dont win any prize money.

Pretty sure the TO pays for the travel expenses, and getting a visa would be needed anyways for some teams as they travel from a diffrent continent

Yeah, but Blast wanted to cut corners even for Major, no way they would pay for 32 teams and for probably week stay, when 4 teams will drop out first day and could stay on this vacation for another 4days.

Yh thats one of the reason blast have it online, but should it ever be LAN with these many teams they would pay for travel+hotel+food etc

Dont let that distract you from the fact that TabseN has been in BIG for 3,136 days and hasn't achieved anything during all that time. I'd say he's the biggest paycheck stealer in CS history.

Dont really why ppl complaining so much about this format. Its a big season ahead. Blast trying to experiment with tournament format and coz of that running it in online But the main question for me - why fantasy is partners game, not seasonal?
