GamerLegion sign hypex; Kursy to be benched after FISSURE Playground 2

The Pole, who was bought out from Betclic, will take over AWPing duties starting at ESL Pro League.

GamerLegion has announced the signing of a new AWPer, Milan "⁠hypex⁠" Polowiec, who will take over the big green as Jeremy "⁠Kursy⁠" Gast has been moved to the bench after only two months on the team.

The European squad will continue to play with the Frenchmen for now, however, as they are currently in Belgrade competing in the FISSURE Playground 2 group stage, where they were easily beat by TYLOO in the Swiss stage's opening round.

hypex showed plenty of promise with Betclic prior to his transfer to GamerLegion, averaging a 1.14 rating in just under a year on the Polish squad, and a team-high 1.08 at his only Big Event to date, PGL Bucharest, where he faced FURIA, Astralis, The MongolZ, Aurora, and FaZe.

The 21-year-old's debut with GamerLegion will then come at ESL Pro League Season 22 Stage 1, which kicks off on September 27 in Stockholm, Sweden.

GamerLegion will have the following roster after FISSURE Playground 2:

1 player doesn't establish if the team is tier 1 or not. They've played almost every T1 tournament this year. They've placed high in most of them. They made a bad signing and now they're trying to fix it. But they're still playing in all the T1 events that have happened (besides 1 they declined).

Im not saying player decides if team is t1 or not silly. Im saying they never placed top 10 (6-10 as you said) in any tournament since signing kursy. Blast london 9-12 EWC 9-16 IEM Cologne 13-16 They were solid t1 contender in first season but ate shit in 2nd season of 2025 with kursy

Being a lightning rod and helping your new player feel more secure is probably one of the most noble things a coach can do for his team. It will make you unpopular and got the whole community to completely 180 on Ash but I respect it.

What's the reason for teams announcing these things mid event? I would imagine it's better for team morale to wait until the event is over

idk maybe they think EPL is the real event to focus on. while Fissure is nice there is no prestige around this tourney yet so they dont care enough to do good here (even though some teams have to)

Now that's a solid move, if everything goes right, GamerLegion can make a step up into being a really dangerous Tier1 team, that on the right day can take it to the best teams in the world, I really do think the riflers on this team are amazing, REZ and PR are real stars, Tauson is stepping it up aswell, I really like the structure ztr and ash have build, a solid sniper is the last thing they lack if you ask me, the only problem I can see is that I don't know if the system behind GamerLegion allows for an AWPer to be dominant, like really, if you look at the history of ash teams there really hasn't ever been a sniper that would be their best player, Kursy was terrible, but before he joined I would say he showed incredible potential, so I hope it won't be the same with hypex, but yeah, I'm really excited about GamerLegion now, good choice.
