Skyesports cancels tier-one events for 2025-26
The tournament organizer has said it plans to focus on strengthening the tier-two and grassroots ecosystem.

Skyesports has announced the cancellation of Skyesports Masters 2025 and their planned tier-one events for 2026, citing a shift of focus "towards strengthening the tier-two and grassroots ecosystem."
"We remain deeply committed to the growth of Counter-Strike 2 and will continue building a sustainable tier-two ecosystem that addresses a crucial gap — empowering teams with tournaments offering them a chance to climb the rankings."

It is not the first time Skyesports has downscaled their plans for their tournament circuit, earlier this year moving from three planned events to only the one, Skyesports Masters, and reducing the prize pool.
It is also not the first time the organizer has cancelled an event, with Skyesports Souvenir being cancelled at the start of this year after Valve allegedly did not respond to Skyesports' request to reschedule the tournament.

Skyesports has endured a tough time of things since entering the Counter-Strike space in general, beyond the aforementioned issues with cancellations and downsizing. Skyesports Championship 2024, which featured the likes of The MongolZ and Eternal Fire, was plagued by issues to the extent that BetBoom withdrew from the event.
