ESL release new anti-cheat client
After nine months of work, the much-anticipated ESL Wire Anti-Cheat program has now been released.
HLTV.org had last month reported that the Electronic Sports League were in the process of unveiling a new anti-cheat tool meant to replace the current Aequitas tool.
The closed and open betas have come to an end, and the ESL has now released the official candidate. The Aequitas client has been laid dead, while the use of ESL Wire Anti-Cheat will from now on be compulsory for games such as Counter-Strike 1.6 and Source.
Those who do not employ the new anti-cheat tool for matches will be rewarded with penalty points, while those found guilty in cheating will receive a two-year ban as usual.
You are able to download the new anti-cheat client over at ESL's official website, as well as read additional information about its release. Do so by clicking here.
Stay tuned to HLTV.org throughout the evening as we have conducted an in-dept interview with the Vice President of Gaming Communities.
