Brazil without ESWC, FIRE, KODE5
Anderson "Aneurex" dos Santos has revealed that Brazil will miss out on qualifiers for ESWC, KODE5 and FIRE this year.
Dos Santos, who has organized gaming events in Brazil for several years, said on Wednesday that due to the lack of sponsors, the nation will be without qualifiers for the three events.
Earlier, dos Santos claimed there would be no national stop for the 2011 edition of ESWC, which meant FIRE could very well be the only international competition available for Brazilian teams.
However, this year's FIRE event, which was supposed to take place in Ecuador, has been canceled as no support for qualifiers has been found and teams will not be able to make the trip.
In addition to sowing doubt in a ESWC stop in Brazil, dos Santos made the same remark about KODE5. The 2010 event in Peru was a tragedy, with $40,000 of the prize money still being unpaid.
Little to nothing is known about a World Cyber Games qualifier for Brazil as of yet, with the local website not displaying any updated information and still showing the 2010 theme.
