African TWC qualifier announced

The African qualifier for the World Championships 2015 begins on Monday, with six national teams fighting for a spot at the global finals.

South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Libya, Algeria and Tunisia will be taking part in the African qualifier for TWC 2015, which will kick off with a best-of-one round-robin group stage.

These six national teams will face each other once over the next four days, which means that there will be three matches per day.

At the end of this group stage, the strongest national team will be crowned African champion and will secure a spot at the World Championships, in Belgrade, later this year.

This South African team was selected by the MSSA (an organisation currently being boycotted by all top players in South Africa). National trials were held but mostly attended by school children and random players not involved in the competitive scene in South Africa. The match will also be played with both teams having at least 150-220 ping in a bo1 format. Quite an absurd arrangement if you ask me. Anyway....not worth betting on matches featuring South Africa. Back home we'll be watching and hoping for the best. Perhaps the other African countries are just as backwards as we are in this instance...who knows.
