ECS S2 Finals team list determined

The european division of ECS Season 2 have come to a close and the four teams qualifying for the finals in Anaheim are Astralis, EnVyUs, FaZe and dignitas.

The last matchday of the ECS EU league have played out, leaving six teams with a 8-10 scoreline, all being tied for the fourth and final spot for the finals. Overall round difference determines tied teams, which means Dignitas are the ones travelling to California in two weeks time.

Also notable is the fact that Astralis managed to win their remaining 10 encounters after initially sitting on a 3-5 scoreline in the table, so the Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander-led Danes take first seed along with SK.

dignitas qualify with the smallest of margins, thanks to six more rounds overall than G2

The eight teams that have qualified for the finals are:

Brazil SK United States Cloud9 Brazil Immortals North America OpTic
Denmark Astralis France Envy Europe FaZe Denmark Dignitas

The ECS Season 2 Finals will take place in the Anaheim Arena from December 9-11th, with a $750,000 prizepool on the line.

Dignitas +5 RD Virtus.pro -38 RD It means VP got raped in some matches and won by small margins in some others. While Ditnitas had way more close matches on it's defeats. Don't argue with numbers.

So for example a 16-3 win at Nuke starting on CT side is more meaningful than a 16-12 win starting on T side WutFace

What about CT sided maps like Overpass, Train and Mirage? Should for example a 16-5 CT side start scoreline mean more than a 16-10 scoreline on a T side start? Because that would mean that knife rounds basically could decide your tiebreaker which is pretty bullshit. H2H system or even an round robin (the one they use at IEM tournaments if there's a tiebreaker) are better solutions

But he has a point that could become a problem in competitive league CS That round margins can't be used as a real comparison because of heavy sided maps in the pool Nuke, Cobblestone, Overpass, Train, (Cache)

Just play more youll see. A scoreline is a perfect way to determine a teams skill and will stay that way. Each team plays both sides. And have an equal chance. Cbble, overpass and cache are all T sided as well. :)

They probably will never play that fucking Site If a Team excellent on Nuke CT starts on T and looses the fist half 3:12 But they win the second 13:1 They could've gone out with a +14 Round difference instead of a +3

You dont get his argument, do you? It is not a matter of winning or losing, it is a matter of round difference. An elite CT Nuke team starting on CT will win with a bigger margin than the same team starting T-side. It is that simple.

they do care, but i guess that's the problem with online qualifiers, teams like VP can't bring the "hype" of a lan and step up their game, while playing from their houses.... it sucks, but, it has to be like that P.S. Taz was even salty on Twitter later saying that "every EU team is an onliner", which Pasza replied that they were moving to NA, while calling the SK guys to turn on the fire for the barbecue.... lol

Its because vp dont know how to use rates to their advantage like all the young teams. And im sure they are terrible at keeping their PCs running smoothly. Thus why they do fine offline on presetup comps

They didn't lose only one Legendary 16-0 it was part of a series. Know your shit before talking out of your ass. I'm not sure if it was faceit s2 or s3 but the result was: VP won train in overtime(19-16) Kinguin won dust2 (16-12/16-10) Kinguin won cache (16-0) And then again when this team was g2, they beat vp in the quarters of dreamhack Cluj napoca major. This is not including the multiple times they have trashed vp online.

Mouz were 5-5 too. And then Godsent 3-7. If you want it complete, it would look like this In 5-way tie with Nip: Nip and Dig are 5-3, VP and G2 4-4 and Godsent 2-6 In 5-way tie with Mouz: VP 5-3, Dig, G2, Mouz are 4-4, Godsent 3-5.

BO1 means nothing in this game either. You start lose a knife round and then start on a bad side, lose first 5 rounds, the other team gets double AWP and molotovs and you have a problem. Look at for example ESL New York finals. VP destroyed NaVi on cbble (first map) yet we've seen a great comeback and a overtime win from NaVi on third map. BO1 takes away all of the thrill from those games and it takes nearly the same amount of time. Just reduce the break between maps to 5 minutes instead of taking 10-15 minutes of bullshit analysis, ads and then 7 minutes of poor's man music loop and we might have a reasonable online league.

So many tears from VP and NIP fanboys, look if these two teams can't reach fourth place with 18 matches to prove their value, supposedly top3 teams, then they don't deserve to be there at the finales. Simple. 'Online' is just a fanboy excuse, if it was one match I could understand but there has been 18 fucking matches, this is enough to exclude any statistical aberration.

If you've ever played at a semi decent competitive level you know that there is a massive difference between online and lan play. They are almost two different games.

If you have motivational issues in trying to qualify for a tournament you don't deserve to be there. And I don't see much difference in LAN and online play because in almost all the matches I have watched both teams have the same ping. So if you really dont want to play a big money LAN that is not the fault of the teams who WANT to qualify and you most definitely cannot insult them by calling them onliners. If you CBA to play online don't bother registering for the league in the first place.

That's cause you are a faze fanboi. Ofcourse there is a difference playing online and at a lan tournament. Internet issues, losses, terrible communication, distractions etc. While for onliners, it's the comfort of their home, their PC, their hacks maybe (joke). I have a friend who destroys everyone online, when we used to play online pug games and then he can't perform on lan, due to pressure. It happens. Also we insult the teams and call them onliners because many of them are not able to replicate their online performance on lan. Faze is the biggest example, of what an onliner team is,up until karrigan joined them and kio came back.

Online is not a big deal. BO1 and round difference rules are. It just doesn't work for this game. It doesn't matter if we're talking about EPL, ECS or Major group stages. BO1 is too fragile. Too seldom does the favored team win. You start bad and you're done. And round difference when two sides can be so different depending on the map? You sometimes cannot put up a fight if you lose only few key rounds that put you at bad economy.

That doesn't even compare mate, SK has a WAAAAAAY easier qualifier then the EU teams, no NA team is a threat to SK, had SK been living in EU instead of NA right now there is no guarantee that they would have made it to the top 4 and gotten a LAN spot.

I feel like CS scene after Cologne is completly messed-up. Bad schedules because there are too many tournaments. I think that ESL, ECS and others events organizers should discuss their events schedules for 2017 because this 2nd Half of 2016 is just a big mess, imo.

Let's see what? Let's see how they'll perform against these 4 european teams that don't even have an advantage in the head to head game against SK? It doesn't change anything for SK, they would still qualify because they beat the s*** out of these 4 teams that qualified. Maybe it would change for the other 3 teams I know it's easier for SK, but it doesn't change the fact that the teams from top 5 couldn't qualify. If you're on top 5, you're supposed to qualify in a group no matter who you're playing against, since you could qualify even being placed as #4 in the group. But we won't have a single european team from top 5 that managed to do it. Actually, we have dignitas, but they'll probably get out of the top 5 soon

the thing about ECS is that they didnt even care to upload regulations of the league, so ppl have to guess how it will get sorted out instead of knowing before even the championship starts. I know this is normal way to decide who goes who does not, but we had same thing in ESL and we had decider BO3. Amateurish organization. BTW, the standings and match dates were not updated for two days since friday, only to sort it out yesterday at midnight.

people are slating that there are so many tier 2 teams here, but there are still a couple of tier 1 teams imo such as Cloud9, dignitas and SK that can make this tournament good, I think I'll be supporting nV in this one.

true, but they had good finishes before those tournaments and won EPICENTER which imo makes them tier 1. a lot of the top teams are shaky atm though imo. there are just way too many tournaments happening at one time which is really affecting the performance of many top teams

but were having good performances previous to EPL S4 just like dignitas were which is why I still consider them tier 1. your opinion is your opinion but I think if they can give a showing like they have at some of the tournaments where they performed well then this has the potential to be a lot more entertaining than it looks from just seeing the teams going is all I'm saying.

tournaments need to be better organised imo. I personally don't agree with you that the fact that any team can win a tournament makes the scene a joke but what does make it less entertaining to watch teams compete is the overflow of tournaments. at max there should be 2 big tournaments a month imo otherwise the quality of CS:GO played just dwindles since players constantly have to be on the move and have no time to prepare and practice for other teams.
