eUnited beat INTZ to qualify for DH Open Rio
eUnited have booked a spot at the upcoming DreamHack Open event in Rio de Janeiro after beating INTZ in the grand final of the North American qualifier.
Eight teams, four invited and four qualified, duked it out over the weekend in a single-elimination bracket for the chance to earn a spot at the Brazilian DreamHack event, where $100,000 will be on the line.
The quarter-finals went according to expectations as all the favorites went through without losing a map, setting up exciting derbies in the semi-final stage.

Swole Patrol, who are looking to rebuild their roster after losing three players to eUnited last month, fielded an interesting roster that included former Cloud9 trial member Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro but were no match for Austin "Cooper" Abadir's troops, who ran out 2-0 victors.
eUnited were joined in the grand final by INTZ, who moved past Brazilian rivals in a series where all three maps saw little contention, with Vito "kNgV-" Giuseppe topping the scoreboard with a 1.41 rating/+24 KDD.
The 24-year-old Brazilian carried that form into the final as he inspired INTZ to a close victory on Train with a team-leading 1.65 rating. However, eUnited responded on Overpass in another keenly-contested map before completing the reverse sweep on Nuke off the back of strong Terrorist side performance.

The qualification for the Brazilian event comes as a timely boost for eUnited, who will be competing in the first ECS Season 7 regular season tournament later on Monday, facing Complexity in the quarter-finals of the $25,000 cup.
DreamHack Open Rio will take place from April 19-21, with five of the eight tournament slots now determined. There are still two invites left to reveal, while the final qualifying spot will go to the winner of the Latin American South closed qualifier, running from March 31 through to April 2.
