mousesports outclass fnatic to win ESL Pro League Season 10
MOUZ won their first-ever ESL Pro League title after defeating fnatic 3-0 in the grand final of the Season 10 Finals, in Odense.
mouz swept to their second tournament victory in a row and look in prime position to achieve their goal of ending the year as a top-five side. And with two tournaments still left - cs_summit 5, in just a few days, and EPICENTER, the following week -, who's to stay that they will stop here? With confidence running high after surviving a three-map thriller against Astralis, MOUZ put up a dominant display against a fnatic side who never looked like posing a genuine threat to their opponents.
For the vast majority of this series, it was Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin against the world. fnatic were outfought and outplayed, the 17-year-old looking like the only player on the Swedish team who could take on MOUZ' big guns head-on. He leaves Odense with a career-high 1.22 Big Event rating but also with a bitter taste in his mouth after he fought what felt like an uphill battle.
On the MOUZ side, the hero was Robin "ropz" Kool, who topped the scoreboard on all three maps to end the tournament with an impressive 1.24 rating and his first-ever MVP medal. The Estonian had a valuable supporting cast behind him, with even Finn "karrigan" Andersen stepping up in the fragging department when needed to help the team to dominate the helpless Swedes, showing the depth of their playbook after playing all seven maps in Odense.
"We played some of the best CS we have ever played in these three days," karrigan said after the match. "I would say that this is one of the best four victories of my career. Doing the way we were doing, everybody thinking we needed more time, that we were not good enough to compete for top five. We came here and we beat everyone. I am just proud of the team."

MOUZ hopped out to a 5-2 lead on the CT side of Inferno after preventing fnatic from stringing rounds together. By then, Özgür "woxic" Eker already had 12 kills to his name, but he struggled to make his presence felt in the remainder of the half as the Swedes kept MOUZ' economy in disarray to secure a 9-6 lead.
A 5v5 post-plant hold on the B site earned MOUZ the pistol round and set them team up for a 9-9 equaliser. Heading into the first full gun round, Brollan was already sitting on 21 frags, but everyone else on his team was still on single digits - a clear sign of fnatic's struggles in the fragging department. The Swedes' defense was prised apart ruthlessly throughout the half - especially on the B site - as MOUZ ran rampant throughout the half and quickly brought the game to an end.
Train began with a solid start from fnatic, who grabbed a 3-0 lead on the CT side, but the landscape of the game changed once MOUZ had guns in hand. The European mixture enjoyed a period of dominance before the Swedes came fighting back towards the end of the half to grab a 9-6 lead, with Brollan once again leading the charge for his team with 21 frags.
Jesper "JW" Wecksell pulled off a triple kill in the second half pistol to kick fnatic further into the lead, but there would be no respite for the Swedes as MOUZ hit back with little more than pistols and regained control of the game. It was not long before they took the lead as the Swedes struggled to find a way to break through the mouz defense.
Things went from bad to worse for fnatic as the Odense crowd erupted when karrigan - the only local representative after hometown favourites Astralis' elimination - pulled off an ace in the 23rd round. As his team continued to shut down the fnatic offense, the Danish in-game leader went huge once again with a trio of quick frags to put the game to rest and MOUZ on the verge of victory.

Just like on the previous two maps, fnatic jumped out to an early lead on Mirage but could not hold on to it for long. MOUZ put up a resolute defensive performance once they had money in the bank and limited the Swedes to just five rounds in the half.
Robin "flusha" Rönnquist kept fnatic in the game with three long-range frags over on B in the pistol round. Just like in the first half, MOUZ responded with a string of rounds after buying up, but the Swedes would not be intimidated this time around and began to chip away at the deficit, with Brollan once again raising eyebrows with an ace.
fnatic managed to bring the deficit to just two rounds, generating flashbacks of karrigan's choking issues while leading FaZe. But this time around there would be no epic comeback: a timely flank on the Dane's part after a great read on his opponents put MOUZ back in the driving seat, giving the team the push they needed to go all the way in Odense.
