woxic benched in Cloud9 - Report

The Turkish AWPer is likely to be replaced by Erick "⁠Xeppaa⁠" Bach in the active roster.

Cloud9 have decided to bench Özgür "⁠woxic⁠" Eker for reasons unrelated to the AWPer's performance, a report from Rush B Media states.

The 22-year-old's benching helps explain Cloud9's recent interest in ex-Chaos star Xeppaa, who was linked with a move to the blue banner in a joint report by HLTV.org and 1pv.fr on Tuesday. However, it also creates question marks around the AWPing role, as the team will no longer field a primary sniper if the move comes to fruition.

woxic is reportedly on Cloud9's bench after just over three months

woxic has been part of Cloud9 since mid-September. He signed with the American organization in a deal worth nearly $1.4 million, a number that includes salary over three years and the buyout fee from his transfer from MOUZ. The Turkish star had previously represented the German organization for over a year and a half before he got benched in August, reportedly due to issues concerning his attitude.

His benching comes as yet another blow to the 'Colossus' squad after they also parted ways with their coach, Aleksandar "⁠kassad⁠" Trifunović, at the end of December because of a stylistic clash between him and Alex "⁠ALEX⁠" McMeekin.

Cloud9's General Manager, Henry "⁠HenryG⁠" Greer, confirmed on Tuesday that the organization is looking into replacing the Serbian veteran with Chris "⁠Elmapuddy⁠" Tebbit, and on Wednesday the Brit went on to Tweet a hint that the signing had come to completion.

If confirmed, the moves will make Cloud9's roster the following:

I will take a lesser player over someone who is good, but toxic as fuck. As someone who has played with that kind of person, I can tell you that a team can achieve just as much without them as with them. If he's got attitude problems: dump him. Though perhaps you shouldn't sign a 3 year contract with a player who hasn't even played a single match for you yet, seems like a sure fire way to end up right where C9 is now.

If all parties involved agree to something else, they dont? Atleast in normal life any contract of service can be terminated with mutual agreement. But then the question is what does woxic want. Enjoy high salary for 3 years most likely ending his competitive career, or keep pursuing his career with atleast temporarily a much lower salary.

Thats exactly what they do. No player wants a 1 year contract, that is way too uncertain. And if an org wont offer you 2+ years of decent base salary, some other org will. So a minimum of 2 years if the norm, and most often they sign for 3+ years. The salaries skyrocketed in a short time in csgo and has been pretty steady since. Some would argue that it is indeed a smart move to lock down a player for 3 years on a high but steady (non-growing) salary.

You literally said that you thought it couldn't be his attitude based on interviews... so you made an assessment - and a terrible one i might add - based on interviews, and some of us base it on the fact that he was already benched due to attitude issues, and now he is benched shortly into a new venture. So i would say there are far more indications of the cause being attitude than anything else. You just mad your opinion was wrong.

Toni Kroos one of the most consistent CMs of the last 10 years. Modric a player who would go on to win the Ballon D'Or. Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale, arguably one of the two best front threes in the last 10 years. That side was anything but mediocre. Now they are mediocre and so is their performance.
