VOYVODA stun OG, Cloud9 to qualify for DreamHack Masters Spring

The team around Viktor "⁠v1c7oR⁠" Dyankov clinched the third European qualifying spot at the main event.

VOYVODA have advanced to DreamHack Masters Spring after an undefeated run through the closed qualifier's lower bracket, which first saw the Bulgarian side take down K23 before they pulled off two big upsets against OG and Cloud9 on the final day of the tournament.

v1c7oR & co., who had been playing under the name MBAPPEEK with the same lineup for a few months until earlier this week, squeezed past the two favorites in two back-to-back, incredibly close series on Sunday to lock down their spot at the main event.

DreamHack Masters Spring will be the biggest event for the Bulgarian team ever since they reunited late last year. The qualification is even more surprising considering that the team have struggled at the lower tier with early exits at tournaments such as Snow Sweet Snow 2 Regionals and the European Development Championship 2 closed qualifier.

With VOYVODA's addition, the team list of the $250,000 event, which will run from April 29-May 9 — potentially on LAN at a studio location if the global situation permits — looks as follows:

One more team will be determined later on Sunday following the conclusion of the grand final of the North America closed qualifier between Extra Salt and High Coast.
