The 21-year-old talent would make a return to CS:GO after departing for VALORANT in April.

Extra Salt are in talks to add Ricky "⁠floppy⁠" Kemery to their roster, sources close to the team tell HLTV.org. It is currently unknown who the player would replace as the organization are still pondering what changes to make to their main lineup.

floppy was previously heralded as one of North America's most promising talents, having spent years grinding through the semi-pro divisions of North American Counter-Strike, only to finally achieve success just before financial support for the entire region crumbled around him.

floppy's path to the Pro League Finals: a journey three years in the making

He previously played with the core of Johnny "⁠JT⁠" Theodosiou, Aran "⁠Sonic⁠" Groesbeek, and Josh "⁠oSee⁠" Ohm on ATK and Cloud9 before joining the latter organization's European 'Colossus' lineup, a project which came to an end in March following a group stage exit in ESL Pro League Season 13.

Although the rifler transitioned to VALORANT with Cloud9 Blue in April, his stint on a team in the Riot Games FPS was short-lived.

After just five months, the organization parted ways with floppy, who pointed towards a burnout from competitive FPS games, not finding the same love for VALORANT as he did for Counter-Strike as a kid, and a struggle with the state of NA CS:GO as reasons for why he felt a lack of purpose at the time.

However, after taking a short break to recuperate, it seems floppy is poised for a return to his home title, where he would reunite with some of his former teammates under Extra Salt.

The addition of floppy could help to reinvigorate the South African-North American composition, who failed to qualify for PGL Major Stockholm following a 9-10th place finish in IEM Fall North America, and more recently fell to Party Astronauts in the grand final of ESEA Premier Season 38 to subsequently miss out on a direct spot in ESL Pro League Season 15.

Extra Salt had previously put up solid results in their European tournament campaigns and made a name for themselves as the most promising team from North America outside of Liquid and Evil Geniuses, a status which they will look to improve upon with floppy in tow.

Nope, it's not about options in VALORANT. Players mostly leave CS, because they have options there and not in CS. He could easily join some team in VALORANT I'm sure, but in CS it's currently impossible. There are like 129817 orgs in VALORANT that can sign almost everyone, this org doesn't have to be top org, but I'm sure, that floppy would find a team. Nah, maybe strong enough to get to groupstages at t1 tourneys (more so bcs of regional quals) but nowhere near winning, Liquid is the only team from other regions that could do some damage in t1 which is sad.
