Extra Salt add junior, Grim to FunSpark ULTI Finals roster

The pair link up with the three remaining Extra Salt players ahead of their impending move to Complexity.

Extra Salt have announced the addition of Michael "⁠Grim⁠" Wince and Paytyn "⁠junior⁠" Johnson to their roster for the upcoming FunSpark ULTI Finals, completing the lineup for the event following the release of Edgar "⁠MarKE⁠" Maldonado and departure of Josh "⁠oSee⁠" Ohm to Liquid.

HLTV.org knows that the duo have not signed with Extra Salt as the entire team are still set to complete a move to Complexity. They are set to depart for Europe shortly for the eight-team event, where Extra Salt hold a spot after finishing as the runners-up in the 2020 Europe Final.

Grim will look to return to his prior form as he embarks on a new journey

The move reunites junior and Grim after the duo previously played together on Triumph in 2020, rising to notoriety on the lineup ahead of their respective pickups to FURIA and Liquid.

Neither player found success on their new teams though, with FURIA struggling to adapt to a language change while Liquid experienced internal issues with in-game leadership changes and ill-adapted roles, leading to roster changes by the end of the year.

After his benching from FURIA midway through 2021, junior played for Bad News Bears, with whom he averaged a 1.26 rating. Grim, meanwhile, averaged a 1.02 rating during his time with Liquid, form which he will look to improve upon with new teammates in tow.

this is an upgrade overall. Junior and osee similar level, Grim is a huge upgrade over MarkE. They basically have 4 out of the 5 best upcoming NA talents in floppy, junior, Fang and grim. I think they embarrass the proposed EG lineup, and have the potential to be better than Liquid given some time together.

I don’t think it’s sad, in Extra Salt (soon Col) he can probably play better roles, put up star player performances and Develop for the future, it’s the Right Move for him in my opinion

This is likely where grim will shine. He was a bit raw for t1, but he is ready for t1,5-2

He also didn‘t get his preferred roles in TL, so I‘m sure he‘ll do better. He‘s still an exciting prospect.

junior was only bad in furia, playing with 4 guys that do not speak the same language as him trying to adapt to a playstyle that did not fit him, i say junior / grim / floppy core is 100000 times better than whatever the fuck EG is trying to do with 5 recycled washed players

TBH extra salt probably made the best deal in NA EG roster looks ass Liquid roster COULD be great not sure what complexity is doing at this point ES probably paid the least for their new roster and even got money from transfers and their roster looks super solid, easily better than EG

ES doesnt have a roster only 3 players signed + grim and junior stand in, coL buys them all after this event

Elige picked Minus as his one for the future, idk about Bwills, he never impressed me a ton but then again his spot was originally for RUSH. Infinite was hyped and originally to be picked up by C9 and the little I saw of Swisher in EU looked decent. They're def not a title contender but they could prob be top 30, maybe high top 20 if they get EU invites
