LDLC part ways with roster

The French organization will pursue a completely new project in 2022.

LDLC have announced the departures of Nicolas "⁠Keoz⁠" Dgus, Lambert "⁠Lambert⁠" Prigent, Ali "⁠hAdji⁠" Haïnouss, and Steeve "⁠Ozstrik3r⁠" Flavigni from the team. They join Bryan "⁠Maka⁠" Canda and Christophe "⁠SIXER⁠" Xia in free agency, with the two players having departed the squad in the last month following a disappointing year with the organization.

The past year was a rough one for LDLC, with the French squad finding very little success outside of a few regional events while failing to qualify for the biggest international tournaments, only reaching the play-in stage of IEM Cologne 2021.

Despite this, the French organization was in the process of re-signing part of the squad for 2022. The plan included a possible transfer of Jayson "⁠Kyojin⁠" Nguyen Van from Vitality, but disagreements during negotiations with some of the players resulted in the deal falling through.

"Thank you to the whole team for playing under our colors. We are proud to have counted you among our Foxes," LDLC said in their most recent announcement, putting an end to any speculation as the players were not signed back up by the French organization.

A report from 1pv.fr suggests LDLC's intention is to start anew and acquire the young French GenOne roster, a project kickstarted by Sebastien "⁠KRL⁠" Perez. The new project would be under the supervision of Julien "⁠Krav⁠" Hernandez, although his exact role in the team is yet to be defined, and there are talks of a sixth youngster also joining the squad.

Maka, who announced his free agency on the eve of the year, is now reported to be looking for an organization alongside former LDLC teammates Keoz, hAdji, Ozstrik3r, as well as two new members, Jordan "⁠Python⁠" Munck-Foehrle, and Kyojin.

LDLC will field the following roster if reports come to pass:

It's a good roster but they're never going to be competitive. Their best performance ever was snatching a win from eSuba, not a long time ago. So yeah, LDLC is going to be a top70 roster, top50 at best, but won't go further LDLC knows about that : but they don't want a top20 roster, they want a "neat" team that will give them good results for a low budget. They just want to stay in the french scene for a low investment and maybe a good reward if those kids go far

-not a low investment -saying they are NEVER going to be competitive is such a shitty statement lmao, nobody can tell what's the ceiling of this line up right now, this is quite literally impossible and I say so while I guess few people have watched them more closely than I did They did not even played team cs one year ago, now in advanced and getting picked by ldlc. You should at least give them the benefit of the doubt

-they will get 2 years contracts with more or less the same salary than the previous iterations got, so I don't see how it is a specifically low investment. -none of them (except for maybe divii but I'm not even sure) had any real team experience before january 2021 -I think they have the raw skill necessary to get into tier 2, tho they will obviously need some time, this is exactly why they wont play in Premier right away and keep their spot in Advanced first

The youngsters picked by LDLC are the old GenOne lineup created by a famous french streamer "KRL" who was part of VG during it's era on CSS. They were completly unknown before being scouted by KRL and they climbed to ESEA advanced in only one year with the help of pros like NBK, Maniac KennyS and XTQZZ who intervened to help them improve :)

Krl can be very proud of what he acomplished. Found 5 young french talented players, make them grind ESEA League, to Main, to Advanced. Now they are signing pro contracts, he taught them all of his game science (Krl was a pro player on CSS, with VeryGames), he must be a bit sad, but what a nice adventure !

The fact the team was salaried for as long as it did with results as shit as they had is straight up bad management. Keoz/hadji/Maka all have a decent future but I hope I don't see Lambert any time soon. He's prob a nice guy and decent igl but individually he made Blad3 look like Niko. A new young roster is the way to go,as Gambit showed with their youngsters rooster. An interesting long term project but much like Gambit that will take a while to show results (and they will need to grind A Lot) GL frenchies
