Round 2 matchups at Americas RMR released

The second set of games at the Regional Major Ranking event for the Americas will see four teams move into the 2-0 pool.

The first round of the Americas RMR has come to a close and as such, PGL has announced the next set of matches. Eight more best-of-one games will be played on Monday starting from 17:50 , with the matchups being decided by the predetermined seeding.

The games between teams sporting a 1-0 record will be broadcasted on the main stream, while the squads sitting on a 0-1 score will see action on the secondary stream.

The first round of the event was characterized by the success of Brazilian teams, beginning with FURIA and Isurus opening up the tournament with victories over Leviatan and Party Astronauts. Not long after, Case joined the 1-0 pool after their win against Bad News Bears while Imperial started the tournament on the right foot, winning the Brazilian derby against São Caetano thanks to a turbocharged performance by Fernando "⁠fer⁠" Alvarenga.

Meanwhile, it was a rough start to the event for North America as Complexity were the only team from the continent to win their opener. Somewhat unexpectedly, both Evil Geniuses and Liquid were relegated to the 0-1 pool after defeats to paiN and 00NATION respectively, meaning four out of the five North American teams will play in the secondary stream going into the second round.

MIBR would close out the first round of the RMR, defeating 9z 16-13 on Dust2, becoming the seventh Brazilian team to join the 1-0 club.

Round 2 of the Swiss-system presents a few interesting matchups, but none more so than Complexity vs 00NATION. In the highest-profile game in the 1-0 pool, he Brazilians led by Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David will be looking to take their second major North American scalp of the day.

Looking at the matches between the 0-1 teams, Liquid has the chance to redeem themselves against TeamOne and shake off the disappointment from their opening game against 00NATION. In a similar vein, Evil Geniuses vs 9z could be the perfect opportunity for the North American squad to turn their fortunes around.
