FURIA and Imperial go 2-0, Bad News Bears and Leviatan face elimination

FURIA, Party Astronauts, Imperial and São Caetano won their matchups in the second round of the Swiss system.

The next round of the Americas Regional Major Ranking is underway, with favored teams meeting expectations in the first four matches and further increasing their chances of securing one of the six spots at PGL Major Antwerp.

In the 1-0 pool of the Swiss stage, FURIA faced Isurus in what was a comfortable win for the big favorites around Andrei "⁠arT⁠" Piovezan, as they dominated the game on Nuke with a 16-4 scoreline. Imperial also joined the 2-0 bracket with a 16-6 win on Dust2 against Case.

On the B stream we were treated to two of the 0-1 games, where Party Astronauts and São Caetano got their first wins of the tournament. Party Astronauts met with Leviatan on Inferno and dispatched of the Argentinian side without much trouble, no doubt helped by a 30-bomb by Ben "⁠ben1337⁠" Smith. Gustavo "⁠SHOOWTiME⁠" Gonçalves's São Caetano were able to defeat Bad News Bears in a close-fought game on Overpass.

The next matches in the second round are Complexity facing 00NATION for a spot in the 2-0 pool, alongside the 0-1 matchup of Liquid and TeamOne, where Liquid will look to make amends for their abysmal showing in the first round and get their qualification campaign back on track.

Closing out the first day will be the Brazilian derby of MIBR facing paiN where one of the teams will join the 2-0 pool, and Evil Geniuses who will meet 9z where Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip's team will hope to stop their losing streak, which is now stretching across seven matches.

Before the online era in 2020, mibr was not playing well but they were a solid top 15 team. Now Fallen and Fer are motivated again and they have 2 better players, Boltz and Vini, to play with it. Could be 3 if FNX stays focused.

You are actually right. But they are the Last Dance, they are too old to be a good relevant team for more than year or 2.

Age is just a motivation thing or do you think someone fit like FNX and Fer have less reflex than a bunch of fatty 20yo on tiers 1 and 2?

can be both, but i think more so motivation becomes a problem. They've already made $$$ from the game and won majors and had great success, there isnt much more for them to achieve.

Definitely. But, people really think that when you are 30yo you become a shit player out of nowhere. Formula 1 is the sport that requires the most reflexes and F1 drivers usually go until they are 40... Goalkeepers in football need a good reflex the most and usually is the position that a player can be older.
