Cloud9 sweep ENCE 3-0 to win IEM Dallas

The majority-Russian squad won over the American crowd with their trophy run.

21:25 nafany: "I probably don't understand it yet"

After lifting the trophy, Cloud9 players spoke to James "BanKs" Banks on stage, with Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov being the first one to share his thoughts after the win.

"Honestly, I probably don't understand it yet. I have a lot of different emotions, but we just really needed this win and I'm happy that we did it," the caller said.

"I'm really at home," he added about the support in Dallas. "A lot of people support us and it means a lot to us."

"I told you guys, we are going to win some LAN tournaments, we are going to win a lot of tournaments in the future," Abay "HObbit" Khassenov said when asked how proud of his team and their success he was. "We are going to bring a lot of tournaments to Cloud9".

21:20 Cloud9 give no chance to ENCE

Russia Cloud9 16 - 3 Poland ENCE

No slip-ups, no mistakes, Cloud9 close it out convincingly. HObbit and Timofey "interz" Yakushin got a double each on the pistol and cleaned up the remaining rounds to take a 3-0 win for the series.

Ax1Le and sh1ro were standouts throught the event

21:10 nafany's anime team is back in control

Russia Cloud9 12 - 3 Poland ENCE

Losing against a low-buy sucked all of the air out of ENCE, it seems. After the early back and forths it was all Cloud9 who did allow ENCE to get into the B bombsite, but won the aim duels and the rounds time after time to finish the half with a huge lead.

20:57 Cloud9 lead, but ENCE are keeping up

Russia Cloud9 6 - 3 Poland ENCE

It is do or die time for ENCE. They start on the more difficult T-side of Ancient but need to get into the game early if they want to ensure the series goes the distance.

Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov being on point from the start is making it difficult, though, the AWPer sits at 15-4 K-D and 4-0 opening duels record just 9 rounds in.

20:29 Valiant attempt, but not enough

Russia Cloud9 16 -11 Poland ENCE

The game was hectic from that point onwards, with seven consecutive rounds traded by the two teams. Usually, CT's would falter in these situations due to the economy, but good economy management and a low buy win allowed Cloud9 to stay afloat and eventually squeeze out the victory, 16-11.

sh1ro died only 9 times on Overpass

20:10 Force buy keeps ENCE alive

Russia Cloud9 12 - 9 Poland ENCE

A pistol round win made it look like Cloud9 were going to close out the map in no time and send us to Ancient, but Pavle "Maden" Bošković got a double with the Deagle to recover the 3v5 and win the force that opened the doors of the comeback.

19:59 Painful half for Snappi and co.

Russia Cloud9 10 - 5 Poland ENCE

Using out the whole clock and painstakingly taking map control worked out perfectly for Cloud9, who found themselves with a massive lead going into the second half of Overpass. sh1ro stood out the most, but it was a team effort from the majority-Russian side.

19:36 T side looking comfortable

Russia Cloud9 5 - 1 Poland ENCE

HObbit continued on the second map where he ended on the first, posting three multi-kills in six rounds as Cloud9 got up to a solid lead on the inferior side of their map pick.

19:10 Near-flawless defense and activated HObbit put Cloud9 1-0 up

Russia Cloud9 16 - 12 Poland ENCE

The two teams were trading blows from 10-10 to 12-12, but Cloud9 kept their head above water for long enough for HObbit to come alive.

HObbit made up for a poor first half

The veteran picked up a crucial 1v1 that saw his team get ahead for the first time on Mirage (13-12) and then added three consecutive multikills to close out the game.

18:52 Cloud9 melt away ENCE's lead

Poland ENCE 10 - 10 Russia Cloud9

In next to no time, Cloud9 equalized things on Mirage with a 5-0 streak after switching to the defensive side of the map, support player interz currently sitting on top of the scoreboard.

18:40 Sides swap with ENCE in a significant lead

Poland ENCE 10 - 5 Russia Cloud9

A lot of damage on an eco and a successful hit worked wonders for Cloud9, breaking ENCE's economy and seeing the Russian side climb up to five rounds. Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer's team still stayed strong and finished the CT side with 10 rounds. Maden on the A defense stood out with 4-0 in opening duels, 5 multikills, and a 15-9 K-D.

Can Cloud9 turn it around?

18:26 Strong CT side for the international team

Poland ENCE 8 - 2 Russia Cloud9

Picking to start on the offensive side of Mirage isn't paying off for Cloud9 so far. Maden, Paweł "dycha" Dycha, and Olek "hades" Miskiewicz are all on 10+ frags as ENCE sit 8-2 ahead.

18:06 ENCE take pistol, tech pause breaks momentum

Poland ENCE 1 - 0 Russia Cloud9

A double from Maden on the Dualies set up ENCE to win the first round of the grand final, but what seems like an audio issue for Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski put a quick halt to the game. Admins are looking into the issue.

17:50 The veto is in - we start on Mirage

The pick-ban didn't provide many surprises in this BO5 as ENCE removed their permaban Inferno and Cloud9 did the same with Nuke, not repeating the mistake they did against FaZe at the PGL Major Antwerp.

The full veto is as follows:

1. ENCE removed Inferno
2. Cloud9 removed Nuke
3. ENCE picked Mirage
4. Cloud9 picked Overpass
5. ENCE picked Ancient
6. Cloud9 picked Vertigo
7. Dust2 was left over

17:40 Crowd favorites or Polish power - who will come out on top?

ENCE and Cloud9 will shortly step up on the stage of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center and kick off the BO5 final of the $250,000 IEM Dallas. The winner will take home $100,000, the iconic IEM plate, and join the race for the $1,000,000 Intel Grand Slam.

Who will lift the trophy today?

For both teams, this would be a first tournament win of this caliber. While Cloud9 dominated in the online era, winning three IEM events in 2021 as Gambit, they are yet to repeat that success in a crowd-filled arena.

For ENCE this would be a similarly big feat. The organization did find success with their all-Finnish lineup in 2019, but never reached a higher world ranking then their current one, as they sit at No. 3 in the world.

After a victory over FaZe in the quarters, Cloud9 won over the fans in the arena, with chants for the organization and individual players heard as they took down BIG in the semis. However, super-sub, Major winner, and former member of the iconic Virtus.pro squad Snax will surely have quite a few people cheering for ENCE as well.

there has to be a perma ban for teams bro, and its a BO5 so obviously you will see majority of the maps played. though it always is a shame when Inferno isnt part of any series, best map to decide the winner

Perhaps in Romania stopped teaching history, then I will remind you. "Delusional communists", as you said, at the cost of their lives ( more than 26,600,000 people) stopped the Nazis , with whom Romania and your grandfather fought together. But even now your country, together with other famous countries, is reviving Nazism in Ukr.

Trust me brother, I know my history VERY well. So well in fact that I am aware of the fact that communism was the most horror and despicable thing that could happen to us, romanians. Perhaps you russians were not bothered by the fact that your communist regime STARVED ukraine to death and killed millions of russians as well. Thing is, I don't expect you to understand these things, the communists have a very subtle way of brainwashing over generations and the best proof of that is that you actually believe that ukraine is a ''nazi'' country and you are ''saving'' them...it's sad and it pains me to see this, open your eyes for a second and realize what a united europe and russia can achive globally...but this is an utopia.

You give out banal things for some super discovery. Obviously, any regime is brainwashing to some extent. Except for the Romanian regime, of course. There is a historical fact: the Nazis, with the support of Romania, killed millions of people around the world. In the name of what did the Romanians help the Nazis kill? Oh yes, the communists are to blame for everything. The Romanian regime was out of business. The Romanian regime was not brainwashing. The Russians have defended and will continue to defend their homeland under any regime. Any normal person defends his home, his family, his homeland. This is clear? As for hunger, the entire Soviet Union was starving after the First World War and 3 revolutions in a row. You know history well enough to understand that. I think this is the end of this destructive conversation. But of course, you should have the last word, because I wrote "Russins ez", which means "Delusional communists", so I'm wrong.

It is destructive indeed, but at no point have I said our regime was always perfect, it had its ups and downs. As for the actual conflict, there will always be two sides. You can't understand why I don't get your point of view and viceversa. It's common sense that one will always be protecting his homeland, family, etc but in this case, no one attacked Russia as far as I am aware.

What are you saying, dumbass? Snax was literally ENCE's best player, not only on this match, but on the entire tournament. Had Dycha and Hades played like they did during the group stage, ENCE would've crushed the Russians. So yeah, Snax has definitely shown that he deserves a team that is at the very LEAST on the same level as the actual ENCE.

Why is there a Russian flag next to cloud 9? It’s an American team. I bet their roster would prefer to see the American flag next to their names. Congrats on the win, thoroughly deserved.

Because they’re a Russian team??? 😂 Faze players are from EU so they have EU flag and not America. & why tf would they want an American flag and not Russian or Kazakh? We’re proud of our country, history, ancestors and culture. A ongoing war and hate from people online and decision of one man won’t change that lol.

Felt a bit sorry for ENCE in the end. They’re a good team but the whole stadium wanted them to lose. It’s difficult to play against everyone

yea but thats the thing, with the current state of the world it will always be hard for them to solve through the VISA issues they will face. Would just be better to get other citizenship

Gg wp. This trophy is a consolation for me after the failed major and finally it's the first LAN trophy. Ty American crowd for support, that's what probably needed the boys all this time. Old c9 were known for playing good in the summer, i hope it's not the case and rhe squad will continue to play like this. Cant wait for the Cologne.

REAL FINAL WAS FaZe vs Cloud9 not 16-3 like cloud9 vs ence even the best team, any sport, cannot win all games Its part of sport that even the very best team sometimes lose FaZe played really badly IN THIS TOURNAMENT compared to their normal level and C9 And ENCE played good enough to beat them at this event. Karrigan was too imperious wheh picking enemies' best maps instead of FaZe's best, FaZe didn't use basic smokes that protect plant (again imperious behaviour) and instead of pushing sites with full force of teams like all rest pro teams, in this tournament they went one by one even when they knew there was 2-3 enemy team players waiting on site, again imperious behaviour made them lose. Hopefully karrigan and rest of FaZe start play games seriously even in money smaller event like this (ofc its hard after winning tournaments with 1st price 500 000 or 400 000 and this just 100 000.) Even Real Madrid (Football's FaZe) lost to some bad teams sometimes, but still everyone agreed they were best overall They did like 10x more mistakes than in past events and if you play on 50% of your best level on tier1, you cannot win, but FaZe will fix these issues after some relax and then they again start winning Astralis during their era didn't always either win every event, or any other teams during their eras

Cloud9 are really happy it worked out the way that it did, Jack was so happy on stage after they lifted the trophy. He was really happy they signed Gambit’s squad and a month or wut later they had already managed to produce a lan win. Congratz again and thanks to calm and collected groove! twitter.com/JackEtienne/status/153353392..

That Jack dude that lifted the trophy was so cringe. Imagine Real Madrid winning UCL and Florentino ran down to the podium and lifting the trophy before the players. What a clown
