Copenhagen Flames announce Zyphon exit

The 18-year-old is "moving on to new adventures," leaving just one player of the last Copenhagen Flames team still on the books.

Copenhagen Flames have announced the departure of Rasmus "⁠Zyphon⁠" Nordfoss. In the release, the Danish organization hinted at the young rifler moving on to a different team, with a Blix.gg report from early August claiming he is on the verge of joining Sprout.

Zyphon was transfer-listed in early June alongside Jakob "⁠jabbi⁠" Nygaard and Rasmus "⁠HooXi⁠" Nielsen, shortly after his two other teammates, Nico "⁠nicoodoz⁠" Tamjidi and Fredrik "⁠roeJ⁠" Jørgensen, were transferred to fnatic.

Zyphon is reportedly joining Sprout

The moves came after Copenhagen Flames attempted to sell the team as a whole, as they were unable to provide the necessary support for a lineup that quickly outgrew the organization following a top-11 placing at PGL Major Stockholm and a top-eight finish at PGL Major Antwerp.

Since then, jabbi has been acquired by HEROIC and Daniel "⁠Vorborg⁠" Vorborg became the head coach of Evil Geniuses. With Zyphon's exit from the organization confirmed as well and HooXi being heavily linked with a move to G2, all members of the former Copenhagen Flames roster seem to have found a new home.

Idk man. Spending 500k on roster that doesn't look promising may not be enticing, but adding a good piece to your roster for let's say 100-150k may sound like a much better option. In which then, anything higher than a 100k sale for a player would already be more than their initial asking price for the roster

Is it sad? They had the chance with coL. Tho tbf the ending result was pretty good for them except Zyphon ends up in sprout tho sprout have some decent players. Jabbi (and possibly HooXi) are making away with much better lineups. Fnatic tho is kinda eh for now

They're a "farm" team getting good talents for cheap then selling them to big orgs for big profits. Only other team I know of who do this are Epsilon which had A LOT of really good players in the past. apeX, shox, ScreaM, JW, flusha, kioshima, maj3r, mixwell, hampus, REZ, draken, blameF, crucial, smooya, k1to, broky, and the list the goes on and on.

Sprout is definitely a team to watch depending on who they bring in to IGL

Either nbk or refrezh according to leaks. That will be a strong team with lots of young Players.

Interesting choice either way, I could be wrong but I don't think either guy has a ton of experience as an IGL. But they bring valuable experience from playing top tier CS regardless. The only thing that scares me is that this roster has "Talented young roster who does really well then sells a couple players" all over it. Launx, Staehr, and Zyphon will have teams interested within a year easily lol

I looked the leaks up again and they said that Sprout signed refrezh. I think that NBK actually has some experience with calling (he was like a 2nd igl in OG and also did some calling in vitality if I remember correctly). Not sure about refrezh but I hope that this roster works. ENCE was already interested in launx but tbh I don't think that Sprout will sell any of their young players (only if they have to) since rebuilding a roster with zyphon and refrezh seems to me like they try to become a T1 contender.

Is that considered a step up? Isn't Sprout a similar T2 aiming organisation with potential upsets? Shame CPHF didn't succeed moving forward as a team, would be interesting seeing if bigger financial support could push them further and to a more stable T1 team. I hope they do find a good spot individually, but seem like Zyphon being the loser in this move.

Did this guy's attitude improve? It's been a while since I've seen him play, but I mostly remember him as a toxic and arrogant eloplayer. Hope for him and his career that he's improved himself in that aspect
