Four teams advance from first BLAST.tv Paris SA RMR open qualifier
The five highest-ranked teams to make the qualifying round all missed out on advancing to the closed stage.
The first open qualifier for the BLAST.tv Paris South America RMR has concluded, and four teams have earned spots in the closed qualification stage that will run from February 17-19.
Over 400 teams took part in the single-elimination bracket, with all matches being best-of-one until the quarter-final, best-of-three round. A handful of known names fought all the way to the round of 16 only to falter just short of playing for a closed qualifier spot, including Case, INTZ, and RED Canids, while Flamengo made it to the best-of-three round only to fall to Fuscão 1500 in a closely-contested 2-0 series.

Meanwhile, the newly-created BESTIA found success by defeating Paquetá in the quarter-finals to qualify, easing past Gustavo "yel" Knittel's side following wins on Inferno and Nuke. Similarly, ODDIK had little trouble making it through the bracket, first seeing off Case 16-7 before advancing by beating Furious 16-9 on Mirage and Anubis.

The sole series to go all three maps was between WINDINGO and Boca Juniors, with each team winning their own map picks in dominant fashion before WINDINGO ran away with the Overpass decider to qualify.
Four more spots in the South America RMR closed qualifier are up for grabs through the second open bracket, which is set to get underway in short order.
The team list for the closed qualifier currently looks as follows:

Maximiliano 'max' Gonzalez
David 'dav1deuS' Tapia Maldonado

Eduardo 'laser' Chshekin

Hélder 'coachi' Sancho
