Astralis out of Major contention after NIP loss

There will be no Astralis at a Major for the second consecutive time after IEM Rio in November.

Astralis have been eliminated from contention for a spot at the BLAST.tv Paris Major after going 1-3 in the qualifying Europe RMR B tournament. The Danes suffered early best-of-one losses to Vitality and Eternal Fire to enter elimination series, where they first beat Spirit but then fell at the hands of Ninjas in Pyjamas.

device's arrival has done little to turn Astralis' fortunes

Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's squad outclassed Astralis 16-4 on the Danes' pick, Nuke, and clinched the series 2-0 after their opponents could not convert advantages on Vertigo time and time again. Ninjas in Pyjamas move on to the 2-2 pool matches, in which a win would send them to Paris and a loss to the last-chance qualifier to fight five other teams for a single spot.

Astralis' failure marks the second consecutive time the organization misses out on an appearance at a CS:GO Major. Before the team brought in Christian "Buzz" Andersen and Nicolai "device" Reedtz at the brink of the year, the core failed to qualify for the IEM Rio Major, which brought an end to the organization's streak of attending every Major since it was founded in 2016.

It comes as a massive blow to the Danish squad, who have struggled to make their mark on the tier-one scene for quite some time, having made just one big playoffs appearance in the past year, at ESL One Cologne.

Astralis hoped the return of six-time top-five player device would turn their fortunes. The AWPer has delivered impressive performances despite spending a year away from competition, averaging a 1.23 rating in 2023 so far, but even the significant firepower injection has done little to improve results.

Astralis' form took a turn for the better somewhat in the past month as they qualified for IEM Dallas, but the early exit from the Major qualifier sends them back to the drawing board and with some decisions to make as many call for more changes inside the team.

Appointing cheater, known for being cheapskates, the fact that they destroyed bubzkjis career with fake promises over fake promises, the fact that they market to their fans that they want to be back to the top but can t be bothered to chase top players, they just gamble with guys like bubkji lucky and farlig, trying as hard as possibile to destroy their status of the greatest, what is not scummy about them? And also don t forget that they run that team so bad, that they somehow are still the ones in debt who can t afford shit, despite being the big cheapskates that they are

I don't feel like you're doing it justice by saying 'appointing a cheater'. They knowingly worked behind the scenes with a cheater, Hunden, while he was still employed at heroic to try and get blamef while he was in heroic, they also bought heroic's strat book off of him and conspired against heroic overall. That's legit corporate espionage but nobody regulates esports. They were also likely involved in getting Hunden unbanned since ESIC couldn't afford a legal battle vs Astralis. Also, you forgot about overworking gla1ve and xyp up to the point of massive burnout and almost denying them medical leave. note that I'm an old Astralis fan but just of the players, I fucking hate Kasper Hvidt and the org itself, I will throw a party the day those suited scums go bankrupt

Not gonna lie, it's not the org.... It's their sports director Kasper Hvidt who is a scum, he's slowly ruining the org completely... He's never done anything good, he became a sports director for a team that was already on a high and going places, now that he lost Zonic, Dupreeh, Magisk and for a moment Device, he had to step up and do something. He failed and now he tries to fix it with scummy ways, but he screws the org, players and everyone around him over with his poorly judgment of what is morally right and wrong.

To be fair he was trying to communicate in Swedish on the roster which must have been really tough. Plus LNZ and Plopski we're rookies and playing 50/59 It must have been difficult going from an established team, where they could read eachothers minds without speaking, to a team with junior players and an IGL that didn't want to IGL. Lesson is, don't just follow the money or women!

BlameF isn't the issue, it's Xyp who's inconsistent and when he's underperforming, he has a very low bottom level. Glaive's IGL'ing isn't working out, his strats and midround calls are all over the place, so he needs to figure everything out from scratch... And the way of doing this, is by doing it the Karrigan and Zeus way, go somewhere else, where you HAVE to start from the beginning and MAYBE return one day. It might do him some good, just like Karrigan going to Mousesports and then back to FaZe and Zeus in Gambit and coming back to Navi.

Xyp is underperforming but glaives performances and calls have been their downfall. There structure with zonic was key in letting glaive play like another rifler with stats to match. Replacing xyp will not do much considering he has dog roles anyway. They need a better coach and strat team or if they already have that glaive gotta do some digging because it was their structure and teamplay that solidified them with ofc firepower from magisk/Devi/Dupree which was considerably less than other teams even at their peak

Device must just realize that he is nowhere near as good as we was some years ago. He will not even get near year end top 20.

Haha, you must be acting like you are stupid. Do you really think he will reach top 20 this year?

"top 20" who even cares about it anymore? device is still one of the best players , i hate him for what he did to nip and lying about leaving, but no one can deny the fact that he had the best career

Well done NIP for performing a miracle, now go qualify Astralis, I hope this loss stings as an org and is karma for all the mismanagement, disgraceful conduct and bad decisions Individually I hope device and blamef can find another home or have a better team and org around them... Buzz too as he's young and none of the above is his fault Glaive and Xyp .. retire and spend time with your families

-xyp for sure, - Glave (optional) depending on what replacement they can get...... or make him choose if he wants to play CS professional or be a dad full time. Buzz, has supprised me, could go either way (stay or go) + Valde + Es3tag No way in hell they should be interested in K0nfig. He is to inconsistent and he does stuuupid shit forgetting he is a part of a team... and his stupid shit tilts he m8s

Astralis underperformed but damn did they have the shittest draw of all the teams. First Vitality then EF that just looked at their Vertigo performance and was like, hmmnn we know how to exploit them. BL

pain suffering dont deserve to play the Major if you cant take down NiP in their current form. all the reformed energy and effort put into online qualifiers and all was supposed to led to successful RMR but dropped the ball against 2 teams worse then them when it mattered the most time for shakeups feels bad for devve
