Metizport unveil new Swedish lineup

The Norwegian organization is fielding a new roster to compete internationally.

RuStY returns to competition after two months on the sidelines

Metizport have announced a brand-new Swedish roster, hoping to take the next step and begin competing internationally. The lineup is headlined by Alfred "⁠RuStY⁠" Karlsson, a veteran of his home region with seven years of Counter-Strike experience under his belt.

The roster includes ex-Lilmix player Hannes "⁠hns⁠" Johansson and 18-year-old prospect Linus "⁠nilo⁠" Bergman, who previously competed for Young Ninjas. Jack "⁠Jackinho⁠" Ström Mattsson, Adam "⁠adamb⁠" Ångström, and coach Ahmed "⁠abdi⁠" Abdi round out the roster, fresh from their recent triumph at IESF World Championship 2023.

The Swedish quintet is scheduled to make its debut on September 13 in the closed qualifier for CCT North Europe Series 8 against ENCE Academy.

GODSENT bench draken, part ways with RuStY

Metizport previously hosted a Norwegian squad featuring Haris "⁠H4RR3⁠" Hadzic, but never managed to make an impact outside their home region. The squad reached their peak in the HLTV ranking with a No. 142 placement in July.

The new lineup will be counting on nilo to provide a significant portion of their firepower. The 18-year-old has so far had a revelatory year with an average 1.21 rating across all competitions, and a highlight campaign during CCT West Europe Series 4. The Swede recorded a 1.30 rating while powering Young Ninjas to a semi-final finish, which was halted by BIG despite nilo's heroics.

"Metizport is launching a new CS team to compete on both the Swedish and international stages," the organization's statement read. "This demonstrates the club's seriousness and our growth ambitions within e-sports.

"With the addition of the new Swedish team, we have three freshly crowned world champions in Jackinho, adamb & abdi, two seasoned veterans who have competed internationally for many years in RuStY and hns, and one of the most sought-after talents Sweden has to offer in nilo!"

Disagree, I think a roster move like going to main nip is way more risky in terms of his career. Just look at ztr and lnz. They both showed great potential but once they were thrown in to compete against the best, they were forced to play like underdogs which stopped their development. Just look at them now. I think a more gradual path is better since it is never a big jump in difficulty which might force you to play differently to get anything at all done, versus the better opponents. This other playstyle might work better against the best players but only equally as good versus similarly skilled players. Say you play vs rank no1 and you keep the same playstyle as vs rank 100. Maybe you end up with like a 0,5 rating. So you change to a more passive playstyle which enables you to get let’s say a 0,9 rating. Only catch is that the same playstyle would also net a 0,9 rating vs team no100, when you before the change were able to get a 1,2 rating. A more gradual change in opponent difficulty might midigate this effect and enable a higher peak later in his career. Only a hypothesis tho. Sorry for long comment. Regards

people also expect to much of this young newcomes to the first t1 team after weeks , EVEN WHEN THE T1 TEAM doesn´t wanna give the young star , the good roles and whatever positions he fells confortable in. and then if he doesn´t put insane ratings he is kicked. Seems like you can´t be above average in t1, you need to carry this old bignames on team or you are out.

LNZ and ztr were never close to nilo in terms of skill tbf, do agree that being thrown straight into nip might be too much for nilo rn but this roster just aint it, this roster is on par or just barely better than young ninjas

Hns is a pretty decent swedish rifler. He won’t impress but also not hold the team back, most likely. Jackinho is a bit underwhelming but he’s underrated.

Nilo leaving NIP is a disaster for them. Not only did they lose a lot of money in transfer fee but also a player who could have replaced one of the main players.
