Road to PGL Major Copenhagen set to begin with spree of open qualifiers

Open qualifiers across the globe will begin tomorrow, January 8.

The likes of HEROIC, KOI, OG, fnatic, BLEED and PARIVISION will begin their quest to qualify for the PGL Major Copenhagen in the European open qualifiers, set to kick off on January 8.

The gruelling single-elimination bracket will be played in best-of-one format until the games that secure a closed qualifier spot, where the format will switch to best-of-three. Four teams will move on to the closed qualifiers from each of the four European brackets.

Other early favorites include 9INE, TSM, Sprout, B8, Sangal, Alliance, IKLA, Sashi, and ALTERNATE aTTaX in Europe.

For South America, there are the likes of Legacy and O PLANO while to the North NRG, Los Grandes, and Liquid will feature with their new lineups as they start their 2024 season early.

there are no official ones is what i meant. I usually watch twitch.tv/travcs he streams the big name org matches like heroic, fnatic etc. just look through the cs twitch directory at 16:00 cet.

There is no main stream for open qualifiers, though they will allow practically anyone to stream those games who wants to. Many players stream themselves and some other parties also stream. The amount of matches is just too massive for anyone to follow any whole thing by themselves. Closed qualifiers will have main stream, though quality may wary.

I looked through NA qualifier and this is saddening. Such a big region and only 96 teams signed up so far, most of them not even complete and have 1-3 members, perhaps someone did it just for fun. There are like 4 real teams - Liquid, NRG, Take Flyte and team One. I wish Covid never happened and Valorant was never released

I hoped to see top female teams like NaVi Javelins, 9Pandas Fearless, BIG Equipa, Nigma Galaxy playing against random 3k stacks, that would be funny af. But they didnt sign up. At least I dint see them among participants and I scrolle the whole list from top to bottom.
