Media: Falcons in early talks over dupreeh

The five-time Major winner could soon be reunited with Magisk and zonic.

Falcons have had exploratory discussions about signing Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen, according to a report by Dust2.dk. The 30-year-old is entering the final weeks of his Preasy contract and has missed the team's recent online matches.

dupreeh has been absent from Preasy's matches since the March 11 defeat to Metizport in the IEM Dallas closed qualifier. Since then, Preasy have been playing with former North and Astralis Talent member Kristoffer "⁠Kristou⁠" Aamand as a stand-in, with the Danish organization providing no explanation for the veteran's absence.

dupreeh joined Preasy at the end of 2023 with the aim of qualifying for PGL Major Copenhagen. However, the team fell short of that goal as it crashed out of the Europe RMR with a 1-3 record following losses to HEROIC, OG and Guild Eagles.

Falcons are on the lookout for a new player after benching Mohammad "⁠BOROS⁠" Malhas in the aftermath of a failed qualification campaign for the Major. The Saudi organization signed Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev from Natus Vincere on a month-long loan for the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown, but the Ukrainian superstar's arrival couldn't prevent the team from crashing out of the tournament after one match. s1mple's loan deal is set to expire on March 19.

If a transfer goes through, dupreeh will reunite with his former Astralis and Vitality teammate Emil "⁠Magisk⁠" Reif and coach Danny "⁠zonic⁠" Sørensen, with whom he won four and five Majors, respectively. Last year, zonic described dupreeh's benching as "hands down the toughest decision" he had made in his career.

Currently ranked eighth in the world, Falcons will return to action in ESL Pro League Season 19, which will kick off on April 23.
