Official: paiN confirm snow addition

Brazil's No. 1 team have completed the signing of the 17-year-old starlet amid plenty of competition.

paiN have confirmed the acquisition of João "⁠snow⁠" Vinicius, a 1.20-rated 17-year-old, from Case.

The youngster was also the target of reported interest from KaBuM and Fluxo, and had entered negotiations with Wildcard before paiN made a successful late swoop for his signature.

As part of the deal, academy graduate Marcelo "⁠nyezin⁠" Ramos — who stood in for paiN since the Copenhagen Major — has made the move to Case and has taken snow's place on the roster since May 2.

paiN have been on the lookout for a new fifth since Vinicius "⁠n1ssim⁠" Pereira's loan deal expired and he returned to Sharks' bench, and became champions of GET Rio with nyezin standing in.

Some role shuffles will presumably follow snow's signing, as he comes in to replace full-time lurker-anchor nyezin on the lineup.

On Case, snow was the primary space-taker on both sides of the map in spots like Banana on Inferno on T side and Middle on Ancient on CT side.

But paiN believe those shifts are worth it in order to secure the latest Brazilian prodigy, one whose arrival to tier one has been widely anticipated since as far back as 2020.
