G2 will be playing their second consecutive tournament without their full roster.

G2 will play in London without their prodigy

G2 have announced that Ilya "⁠m0NESY⁠" Osipov will not appear at the upcoming BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024, set to be played from June 12-16, due to visa issues. He will be replaced by the team's coach, Wiktor "⁠TaZ⁠" Wojtas.

The news comes as a heartbreaking end to the season for G2, who are fresh off an IEM Dallas victory after lifting the trophy with the help of stand-in Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip.

m0NESY, who won the MVP award at the American event, said he wants to take the experience and share it with Rasmus "⁠HooXi⁠" Nielsen, but will now need to wait until the end of the player break to do so.

m0NESY: "We shouldn't forget the experience from this event, and we should share it with HooXi"

The Russian superstar has been G2's shining light during 2024, earning himself one MVP and three EVP awards up to this point while averaging a 1.31 rating across 90 maps of play.

Stepping in for him is TaZ, who made his last appearance in a professional match in March last year under the HONORIS tag, just before the organization ceased operations and the Polish legend retired from competitive play.

G2 have been put in Group B at the BLAST Premier Spring Final and will meet Spirit in their opening match on Wednesday at 20:30 .

Unfortunately the decision making process behind accepting/refusing entry to the UK isn't as consistent as we might think. A lot of factors can mean that one day you get your visa accepted but if you'd have asked a day earlier it would have been refused. You can follow all the rules and requirements and still get rejected

I think Blast are more strict about roster lock. They could only use players that they declared either at the start of the year of before Spring Groups. Meaning that they could only use Taz as substitute. So no stew, no Butterman.
