M80 vs. fnatic breaks CS2 round record

The Anubis affair went to 71 rounds to break the recently set new Counter-Strike 2 record for most rounds played in a single map.

A new record has been set for most rounds played on a single map of Counter-Strike 2 on HLTV.

M80 and fnatic played a staggering 71 rounds in their octuple-overtime affair on Anubis in their group stage match at ESL Pro League Season 20 on Wednesday to break the previous high of 64 rounds.

That only stood for two weeks after it was set by Rhyno and Zero Tenacity on Vertigo in an online Elisa Invitational Fall match on August 28.

As far as LAN matches go, the highest number of rounds previously played was 54 between TYLOO and The MongolZ in an eXTREMESLAND 2023 match that took place in January.

At Big Events, the highest number of rounds played was 42, one that was reached on five occasions, including in last week's ESL Pro League Season 20 match between Eternal Fire and Natus Vincere.

The map between M80 and fnatic did however match the previous all-time Big Event record, which was set by Natus Vincere and AGO in ESL Pro League Season 15 in 2022.

Im not 100% sure this was the case for this particular game but back then around this time we had overtimes with MR10 sometimes, so it could go pretty high with less OTs in total.
