Sixteen teams are set to fight in the Americas RMR for seven spots at the Perfect World Shanghai Major.

Liquid look to return to the Major stage after a failed bid before Copenhagen

The 16 best teams that North and South America have to offer is about to fight it out in Shanghai, China for seven spots at the upcoming Major organized by Perfect World in the Chinese metropolis at the end of the year.

From November 12-15, the likes of Liquid, FURIA and Complexity will go under pressure as favorites to make it out, with plenty of challengers lining up alongside them for their chance to earn their Major spoils.

Here's everything you need to know about how the Americas RMR will unfold:

Participating teams and format

The following 16 teams earned their spot at the Americas RMR, half via the Valve Regional Standings and half through closed qualifiers in North America and South America, which took place in August.

They will play in a Swiss group, played in best-of-ones in the first two rounds and in the 1-1 pool in round three, and in best-of-threes in progression and elimination matches from round three onwards.

Teams who finish the group with a 3-0 or 3-1 record and the highest-seeded team with a 3-2 record will qualify directly to the Perfect World Shanghai Major. The seventh slot will be decided in a match between the two lower-seeded 3-2 teams.

Schedule

The Americas RMR will be played from November 12-15. The first two rounds will be played on day one, followed by one round per day from the second day on. Below you can find the full schedule, including the opening matchups:
