M80 send BESTIA packing from Americas RMR

The American squad will now have to wait and see if they will be required to play the seventh-place decider.

M80 have emerged victorious against BESTIA in the first 2-2 series of the Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR, eliminating the Argentine squad while putting themselves in contention for one of the two Major spots still up for grabs in the region's qualifier.

With this win, M80 will now eagerly anticipate the results of the remaining 2-2 games, as those outcomes will determine whether the team will head straight to the Shanghai Major or need to first play a tie-breaker series.

The only way that M80 can secure the direct route to the Major is with victories for FURIA and RED Canids against their respective opponents of 9z and Imperial. Any deviation from these results will force Elias "⁠s1n⁠" Stein's men to play the seventh-place decider against another low-seed team.

M80 got off to a solid start in the match versus BESTIA, locking down their pick of Dust2 after facing only limited resistance from their opponents. BESTIA came back with a vengeance on Mirage, embarrassing M80 with a 12-0 T-side to quickly put their map pick to bed with a 13-4 scoreline.

Considering the stakes of this match, the decider of Anubis certainly delivered, as M80 clawed their way back from a 5-11 deficit, fueled by the efforts of German duo s1n and Fritz "⁠slaxz-⁠" Dietrich. The map needed two overtimes to be decided, and despite the best efforts of Tomas "⁠tomaszin⁠" Corna, who posted a phenomenal 1.53 rating on Anubis to add to his impressive Americas RMR run, M80 ultimately emerged victorious 19-17 to keep their Major dreams alive.
