MOUZ bench siuhy ahead of Katowice in shock move

The current world No.5-ranked team is on the lookout for a new player just weeks into the season.

MOUZ have announced that they have removed in-game leader Kamil "⁠siuhy⁠" Szkaradek from their starting lineup. In a statement posted on X, the German organization cited "differing visions for the team's direction" as the reason to move on from the Polish player.

Ludvig "⁠Brollan⁠" Brolin will take over calling duties from siuhy permanently, marking the start of a new chapter in the Swede's career. This leaves MOUZ with the task of finding a hard-hitting rifler to make up for the potential drop-off from Brollan, who was just outside HLTV's 2024 Top 20 Players of the Year list.

The announcement comes as a huge shock as siuhy has cemented his reputation as one of the finest in-game leaders in the scene since returning to MOUZ in July 2023 after an impressive spell at GamerLegion.

A product of the MOUZ NXT academy, siuhy led MOUZ to three titles (ESL Pro League Seasons 18 and 19 and BetBoom Dacha Belgrade) and three other final appearances during his 18-month tenure in charge of the squad. The team ended the 2024 season with a semi-final run at the Shanghai Major, where they were defeated by eventual champions Spirit.

MOUZ started the new season off on the wrong foot with a loss to BetBoom in BLAST Bounty's Round of 32.

Unable to register new players for IEM Katowice because of the roster lock, MOUZ will field academy member Adrian "⁠xelex⁠" Vincze as their fifth player in Poland. The 16-year-old has been on MOUZ NXT since September, with the team currently down to four players following Oldřich "⁠PR⁠" Nový's transfer to GamerLegion.
