Lotan "Spinx" Giladi helped Vitality win IEM Cologne in 2024, but he will not get a share of the team's Intel Grand Slam prize if they complete the run.

"If a player has left his or her team and competed in an IGS event for another team, he or she becomes ineligible for any IGS prize money his or her old team would win," the Grand Slam rules read.

Vitality are currently leading the Grand Slam race with two EPT Championship trophies (IEM Cologne 2024 and IEM Katowice 2025), and can add a third title later today if they beat MOUZ in the Pro League final.

Following an extensive update to the third-party event rulebook on Saturday, Valve rectified a "mistake" to do with a new Wildcard invite requirement.

The adjustment eases the new rule, which now says a Wildcard invite has to be ranked lower than 12th on the Global VRS list, instead of lower than 12th on all VRS lists.

yeah and people shit way to much on teams trying to climb losing a matchup. any team would lose some matches with the amount of matches played down there. its for sure harder to climb to tier1 than to stay.

They probably gathered enough VRS points from their last runs to not be forced to resort to playing CCT. I mean look they won qualifier for EPL with 3-0 record, they are 2-2 facing G2 tonight ... they are doing very good, it should reflect into their VRS points as well

Valve trashed CS:GO in favour of a broken beta version of CS2, obviously they won't let anyone recreate what is basically a better game. We've come a long way from the Valve that once were a modders wet dream.

Why PGL and ESL hate asia? PGL during bucharest qf cancelled some asian qf and now for astana they left only one oq spot for asia while oceania has 3, sa and na 4 and mena 2. Meanwhile on their shitty platform most teams register after europe is rest of asia. Also they host 4 different qf for china, oceania, mena and rest of asia where one team qualifies for the playoffs which was also held online so why the heck tyloo, rare atom, lyhn vision and some other good Chinese team have to fight for one spot while ocenia and mena will get a free spot which they would never won against chinese teams if in the end it is still online

Ok guys just stop and think about it for a second... Why are yall laughing at NiP for signing up for this tournament? When this is a win-win situation for everyone? Just stop the hating for a bit... they are a new team, trying to get VRS points, and so they sign up for smaller tournaments to grind it out, the OG oldschool way, and this way the tournament gets a lot of exposure as well, more media attention, more local fans for NiP as well, more... everything. More good counter strike even, because the NiP guys will actually FIGHT for their VRS points, they aint going there to play some showmatches, they are going there to fight for their chance to come back to t1 tournaments... this is great and I'm happy that more t2-3 teams sign to these tournaments, it makes it all more exciting, and it's also great for us, viewers - more good CS to watch :)

Was stupid when you look back at it, but if it’s all following the rules, that’s unlucko then. People just went on the bandwagon and have things like these rent free in their head. Can also count so many orgs who are not better than nip ethically, we could even end the argument when bringing up gambling an betting sponsors, the system is full of it and keeps it alive sadly

The real question is, why more teams don't go to these local LAN tournaments as they give you more VRS points than CCT... Also because of that more local LAN tournaments will hopefully start popping up. The CS pro scene is healing, thank you Valve.

Does vitality still get the full grand slam prize if they win it? Can’t they just gift him the prize money if they want to? I’m a noob and don’t get how it works

To be honest, my brain was thinking flamez even though I read spinx. I thought it was implying flamez could not get a cut, which actually makes no sense now that I think about it. I must have been drunk when I read that. Of course they would not feel obligated to give anything to spinx, you are right

I dont see the problem in this?!?!!? Spinx left and they still gotta win 3 touranments with Ropz wtf

"Vitality are currently leading the Grand Slam race with two EPT Championship trophies (IEM Cologne 2024 and IEM Katowice 2025), and can add a third title later today if they beat MOUZ in the Pro League final."

the problem was that if spinx was eligible he would have a conflict of interest in soft throwing the final to make vita win since the difference between 1st and 2nd in epl is less than what he would have gotten with grand slam given vita is looking strong and he could have gotten it before the clarification

they need 2 more not 3, they already won kato and cologne (1 of which is required for the IGS) and need 4 S tier ESL/IEM events in total out of 10 consecutive

it's honestly so cool, shame valve will likely shut this down just like they did to classic offensive. someone needs to remind them that CS started as a HL mod. they've lost the plot man.

They're auditing CSCO to check for anything that may cause legal problems in the future, if anything, Valve is doing the CSCO devs a favour

Promod was one of the best thing can happen before with the clash of 1.6/source, and no future came with it. its the same right here, just some dreams for old school players who needs real 1.6 back. no one will remember it in 6months.

Why did they wait literally 13 years to restart the project? ProMod never really got where it was going. It's a cool idea but I suspect it'll go nowhere.

Considering they already have a prototype, I think it's safe to say that they didn't. Also a lot more relevant than it was when CS:GO was out, since the game was any good.

My point is they worked on ProMod over a decade ago. CSGO became well established since then, so I don't really understand what they're hoping to achieve at a point when CS is pretty comfortable. I'd argue it's way less relevant now, because the chance you'll pull a large playerbase from the existing landscape is pretty slim. ProMod was trying to make 1.6 look nice for the future. It originally was competing against 1.6 and Source, because we didn't have an alternative. Competing against CS2 is pointless.

Meh, I know quite a large amount of people that disagree with that. I've played CS throughout all the years and stopped with CS2 because I simply don't like it. We've got two different mods with a large amount of hype between them, a lot more than CSPromod ever got. People are looking for alternatives, believe it or not.

1.8 million players? that's almost 1 million players per developer actively working on this game.

If CS:CO is not getting released duo Valve blocking them (when this project got officially GreenLighted so it was given permission by Valve itself in 2016...) after almost 10 years of being worked on... then i am not even getting hyped for that CS:Legacy, because it will end same way - if not even worse. IT will be just plugin for community server and nothing else
