M80 oust FURIA from BLAST Open
M80 keep their Lisbon dreams alive after winning out a double-overtime brawl on Inferno.

FURIA have been eliminated in last place of BLAST Open Lisbon following a 1-2 loss to M80 in the Group B lower bracket.
The Brazilian side looked somewhat competitive in their opening series against Natus Vincere, but Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's men were unable to replicate that form as they fumbled the Inferno decider of their elimination match to M80.

M80 looking to skip the Major qualifiers
M80 arrived at the event ranked sixth in the Americas, which meant they needed to make up around a 100-point gap to fifth-placed Wildcard by April 7 to make it into the invites straight into the BLAST.tv Austin Major.
By keeping themselves alive with a win over FURIA, Elias "s1n" Stein and company have preserved an opportunity to receive a direct invitation to the Major. The task will not be an easy one, however, as they are bound to play the loser of G2's matchup against Eternal Fire, offering a difficult opponent no matter the result.
After BLAST Open Lisbon, M80 and Wildcard will have just one more event to play before the April 7 cut-off, the PGL Astana NA closed qualifier.
FURIA continue to struggle in 2025
This last-place exit adds to FURIA's tally of disappointing results this season, coming just after a departure from ESL Pro League Season 21 with a 1-3 record.
For FURIA, who have yet to bag a win over a top-ten side this year, this result fails to assuage fears regarding the team's current form.
"I think after this result we're probably going back to Malta for a little bit more bootcamp," FalleN shared in a post-game interview. "We're probably gonna have good talks and try to understand why those things are happening, and keep improving on them.
"There are teams who are coming here in the tournament and right away they can think about the title, and that is just not the case for us and a lot of teams here. It's all about realizing and learning something for the next tournament."
