Falcons defeat m0NESY's G2 to win PGL Bucharest
The Saudi organization finally won its first LAN trophy in Counter-Strike.

Falcons have defeated G2 in the PGL Bucharest grand final with a 3-0 scoreline (Mirage 13-5, Nuke 13-7, Ancient 13-8) to lift their first LAN trophy in Counter-Strike.
"It means a lot, especially also the way this tournament went for us," Danny "zonic" Sørensen said in a broadcast post-match interview. "It wasn't the best start, not going to lie. It's been long time, no see regarding trophies, so I'm super proud of these five players. They've done an amazing job this week and I'm so proud of them."
Despite the victory, the tournament is expected to be Falcons' last match with this roster iteration, as they are anticipated to complete the long-awaited signing of Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov ahead of their next event.

The series began on G2's pick of Mirage, where three 5vs3 losses in the first seven rounds meant they were 1-8 down. While they recovered to 5-8 after a second-half pistol, Falcons took control with a force-buy and breezed to a 13-5 victory thanks to Abdul "degster" Gasanov's 1.79-rated performance.
Nuke was up next, and G2 took an early 3-0 lead thanks to winning the pistol. Falcons answered with aplomb, however, as Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski's calls continuously found gaps in the G2 defense, which helped them win out the half.
G2 won their second pistol of the map to tie up the scores at 7-7 but then petered out by losing six rounds in a row to drop the map 7-13 and give themselves a near-insurmountable task to win the final.
G2 got another hot start after winning out the force-buy wars on Ancient, but Falcons answered by once again dominating the gun rounds. kyxsan's troops won five in a row and ended the half 6-6 thanks to some late impact by degster and Emil "Magisk" Reif.
As was the case for the previous maps, Falcons once again took over in the second half. Nikola "NiKo" Kovač's multikills got them three rounds away from the trophy and allowed them to stroll to a 13-8 win.
degster goes out with a bang
degster is expected to make way for his grand final opponent m0NESY after this tournament, but his performance in Romania puts some question marks on Falcons' decision.
The Russian AWPer finished the event with a 1.12 rating, second only to NiKo on his team, was Falcons' best player in the final, and massively outshone m0NESY in the head-to-head duel (1.27 rating vs. 1.00), which also secured him an MVP award.
While it's probably too late to reverse the decision, degster should have some offers on the table if he does find himself on the bench.
The win also marked the first title of his career, and the 23-year-old couldn't hide his happiness after lifing the trophy.
"First of all, thank you everyone who was supporting us, it's amazing. It's my first trophy, I worked so much for that," he began.
"Some of my teammates are also winning one for the first time. It took seven or eight years for me to win it for the first time, I don't even know how to lift the trophy in the correct way (laughs).
"You guys [his teammates] will be in my life, I won my first tournament with you boys, I fucking love you," he ended the interview.
Falcons finally end trophy wait
The triumph against their rumored new signing m0NESY has finally ended Falcons' drought for a tier-one title in Counter-Strike. The organization had a torrid period during their first 12 months in the game but has finally started to find form after the signing of NiKo and the HEROIC core.
Falcons made the final at PGL Cluj-Napoca and now went one better to secure a dominant three-map victory against NiKo's ex-team G2 and become only the fourth team with a tier-one title to their name in 2025.
