FlyQuest qualify for Austin Major after flawless MRQ run

FlyQuest have locked up a spot in Stage 1 of the BLAST.tv Austin Major after winning the Oceania & SEA Regional Qualifier. It will be the second Major appearance for the FlyQuest organization after the Australian team played in the Opening Stage of the Shanghai Major.

Playing their first tournament since signing Corey "⁠nettik⁠" Browne and switching the IGL role to Joshua "⁠INS⁠" Potter, FlyQuest exhibited their superiority by breezing past Rooster and SemperFi (twice), conceding an average of 6.7 rounds per map. Only once did they let an opponent reach double digits on a map.

In qualifying for Austin, FlyQuest secured first Major appearances not just for nettik but also Iulian "⁠regali⁠" Harjău, who took over sniper duties from Alistair "⁠aliStair⁠" Johnston after Shanghai.

The Austin Major will come at the end of a very busy stretch for the Australian team, which will attend IEM Melbourne (April 21-27), BLAST Rivals (April 30-May 4) and the Hero Esports Asian Champions League (May 6-16) before the trip to Texas.

FlyQuest have not played on LAN since ESL Pro League 21 in early March. They went out 2-3 in Stage 1, with Christopher "⁠dexter⁠" Nong being benched shortly after the event as the organization decided to take the team in a new direction.

Entirely expected - they are a level above all the other teams in the region.

true. Sadly the region isn't stronger, which is one of the reasons why in my opinion Flyquest struggle outside of their region. If Teams in the Oceania region were stronger, then FlyQest themselves would have easier and better ways to improve rather than having to travel to Europe for example to play better competition.

Yes. They need bootcamps in EU to stay competitive.

Same way how female teams prac vs other female teams and Imp FE just wins vs everyone and then on VRS event against male pros they cant even get 4 rounds on a map. But I think tory or someone said in an interview that they pracced against men recently (Liquid)
