As the Austin Major nears, two twin brothers prepare to cross paths
The North American event will mark a milestone for susp and adamb, who will face each other for the first time in their careers.

As far back as 2022, Jerry "xelos" Råberg could see there was something special about twin brothers Adam "adamb" Ångström and Tim "susp" Ångström.
A veteran of the Swedish scene, with spells on teams like SK and Epsilon, xelos played with adamb for nearly seven months and with susp for roughly two. He was powerless to prevent the twins from leaving Lemondogs — a small feeder team in Sweden — in April 2022 as they were approached by Ninjas in Pyjamas to play for their academy team, Young Ninjas.
"They showed great potential early and had an incredible learning curve," xelos recalled. "It was just a matter of time before a bigger team picked them up.
"They needed to gain more discipline and prioritize the right things in order to succeed."
Three years later, the brothers are about to compete at the BLAST Austin Major: adamb is part of the all-Swedish Metizport lineup, whereas susp is on the multicultural Wildcard roster. The two teams will lock horns in the first round of the Swiss stage, adding an extra layer of intrigue and excitement to the opening day of the Major.

The twins have followed divergent paths towards this point after taking up the game nearly a decade ago. It all started when their older brother introduced them to CS:GO, right around the time fnatic were unleashing a reign of terror on the scene.
"The players I looked up to were either KRIMZ or olofmeister," susp told HLTV in a remote interview alongside his brother. "I like the fnatic era."
adamb added: "When I started playing, it wasn't like I was looking up to someone, you know? But let's say olofmeister. It was cool, a Swedish guy. And I remember when susp and I met him and we were, like, 'Wow.'"
Their special bond as twins is a given. They have many of the same friends and hobbies and spend a lot of time together when susp is at home. But inside the game, the differences are stark: susp is the space taker and secondary caller who isn't scared of dying for the sake of his team, while adamb is a pure entry-fragger. "Just raw aimer," adamb noted.
The brothers left Lemondogs at the same time to play for Young Ninjas, but only adamb signed with the NIP organization. susp was consigned to stand-in appearances, even helping the team to the Svenska Elitserien Spring 2022 final. "I was close to joining many times, but it just didn't happen," he said.
That was the start of susp's nomadic journey. Between August 2022 and November 2023, he played for six different teams, from mix teams like KTRL and PORTUGAL to tier-two organizations such as Budapest Five and 00NATION.
"It was kind of hard to find a nice Swedish team to play that would have me while I was still going to school," he explained. "So I started playing in mixes with people who were really good as well. Like-minded people."
Before the end of 2023, susp signed with Metizport, finally reuniting with his brother, who had been recruited from Young Ninjas just months earlier. The Norwegian organization also signed Erik "ztr" Gustafsson as an IGL, giving Jack "Jackinho" Ström Mattsson the space to find more impact with the AWP.

The team made sense on paper, and there was a lot of room for growth as every player on the roster bar Jackinho was still learning the ropes. Metizport's potential was on display in the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown as they beat Falcons (who were playing with Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev on loan) and Monte before losing to Spirit in a three-map semi-final.
But then, in May, came the decision that Metizport were moving on from susp and ztr, just six months after picking the duo up. The decision came as a surprise to many, including the team's players.
"I was very shocked," susp recalled. "We were, like, a top 30 team at the time. And we were never practicing because we had high school and so many matches to play.
"The only tournament we really had time to practice for was BLAST, and we did really well. And everyone was excited because that year we would graduate from high school."
adamb was just as shocked. "A bit mad," even, he added. He felt he was playing his best Counter-Strike alongside his brother and that the team was benefiting from having such a selfless player. "I was a bit unmotivated because of it. But it was out of my hands."
It didn't take long for susp to find another team. Weeks later, he packed his bags and went to North America, having signed with Wildcard alongside compatriot Love "phzy" Smidebrant.

Despite the obvious difficulties from having people from different backgrounds (there are five nationalities from three continents in the team if you include head coach Vincent "vinS" Jozefiak), Wildcard have been able to make it work. The team grew as the 2024 season went on and qualified for the Shanghai Major after beating Liquid, paiN and 9z in a flawless 3-0 run at the Americas RMR.
"After we qualified, we all went out, and it was unreal," susp recalled. "You could just feel the mood in the team. Everyone was so, so happy."
Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz's influence has also been important to susp's development. One of North America's most accomplished in-game leaders, the Canadian often acts as the "dad" of the team and strives to get everyone in the right mental frame at all times.
"He is very good at creating a good environment for the team where everyone acts professionally," susp explained. "I think that helps a lot in building a good team."
Wildcard endured some struggles in the first quarter of 2025, domestically and abroad, but they barely had to sweat to qualify for the Austin Major as they topped their MRQ group with wins over Marsborne and NRG.
Metizport, meanwhile, punched their ticket to Austin by defeating B8, BC.Game and Astralis in the Europe MRQ. It was a surprising run from the Swedish outfit, who were the bottom-ranked team at the start of the tournament at 51st. Before the MRQ, they had struggled to climb out of the depths of tier-two online CS.
"We practiced really hard, and I think everyone stepped up when we needed," adamb said. "Everyone was grinding really hard, and we made it work in the end.
"It's always been a dream of mine to play at a Major."

susp and adamb are among the 11 Swedish players who will compete in Austin, the joint-third-largest contingent at the event, only behind Brazil (25) and Russia (17).
Another player who will be representing Sweden at the Major is HEROIC's Linus "LNZ" Holtäng, who played alongside the brothers back in their Young Ninjas days.
"I'm very fond of the two brothers," LNZ said. "They are great people and have very funny personalities. I met them very early on in my career while grinding the Swedish pro league, and since then I think they have grown a lot. In some ways, they are very similar to each other, but they have also some quite big differences."
After years of misery, Swedish fans after reasons to be cheerful again. When Metizport qualified for Austin, they became the first all-Swedish lineup to book a Major spot since Ninjas in Pyjamas in 2019.
The irony is not lost on adamb. Everyone on Metizport besides Lucas "L00m1" Haukland has played for Ninjas in Pyjamas at some point, either at the academy or senior level, and harbored dreams of lifting silverware under the organization. Still, adamb insisted that no one on the team is thinking about proving people wrong. They're simply enjoying the moment.
"It feels really good," adamb said. "We're getting a lot of support from the Swedish scene. And it's cool to represent Sweden at a Major. It gives you a little bit of extra motivation."
When the brothers sat down with HLTV for this interview, the prospect of a Major clash between them was only in the realm of projection. Metizport were due to face Lynn Vision and Wildcard were slated to meet Fluxo before Legacy replaced BESTIA and the Stage 1 teams had to be reseeded.
Asked about a potential matchup between the two teams, susp said: "Of course I have to say that I'm going to win. If I don't trust myself or my team, I shouldn't be here. And I think Adam is going to say the same thing. Of course, he is always going to believe that he will win."
adamb added: "Yeah, but if you think about it, you'll be happy and sad at the same time. Let's say it's an elimination game or a qualifying game. If you win, you'll be really happy but also sad that your brother is out."
The brothers have high goals for Austin, though it's clear that the two teams are in different places right now. After reaching the top-16 stage in Shanghai, Wildcard are widely expected to make it out of Stage 1 in Austin without too much trouble. It's a different conversation for Metizport, who have not played on LAN since the IESF World Championship 2024 in November.
The recent arrivals of Hampus "hampus" Poser and Isak "isak" Fahlén have added an injection of experience to Metizport, though inconsistency has remained an issue for them in 2025.
"I have high expectations since we made Legends last time," susp said. "I would be happy with Legends and I would be really happy with playoffs."
"I think we can go really far," adamb added. "We have experienced players on my team, like hampus and isak, who I, would say, are better on LAN than online. They're not so used to playing online all the time.
"I think we will all step up when it matters. We haven't had the best of periods. We're trying a lot of stuff to make everyone comfortable. It's a new IGL. It takes time to get everyone on the same page. At the beginning, we didn't think about CS the same way. And that makes it really hard to play.
"We've been practicing a lot, spending a lot of hours trying to get better. And I think we're making big progress. We will show it at the Major, for sure."

Aged only 20, susp and adamb still have plenty of Counter-Strike left in their careers. adamb dreams of travelling the world, lifting trophies and becoming a role model for the next generation. "Being one of the top three players in the world would be my dream," he said. susp's goals, by comparison, seem less grand. "Playing in a consistent tier-one team, where you're making playoffs a lot and you're a trophy contender. And at the same time, you're having fun and you've found people you're comfortable with. Having a good career and playing at the top."
Despite these differences, the brothers have one goal in common: to play with each other again.
"I still really want to play with him," adamb said. "If I have the chance to do it, I'll take it."
"Of course I want to play with Adam again," susp added. "It's a different feeling, especially when you're coming from a team like Metizport, where I played with Adam but also nilo. We live close to each other, and we knew each other outside of the game.
"I was playing on a team with family and really good friends. I would like to experience the same again. We're fun and also play well together."
