Stomps galore in Austin Major round 1

Round 2 matches have been set after a round 1 full of one-sided affairs.

The first round of Stage 1 at the BLAST.tv Austin Major has come to a close as the last two matches Metizport and Wildcard as well as FlyQuest and Fluxo rounded out a rather stompy first half of the first day in Texas.

It began with Nico "⁠nicoodoz⁠" Tamjidi's record-breaking 3.08-rated performance in a 13-3 win against Complexity and HEROIC's Pick'Em-saving second-half stomp of Chinggis Warriors, and the rest of the day wasn't too much different.

The only match that went down to the wire was between B8 and Imperial, who went the distance on Inferno with the Ukrainian squad edging out the win off the back of a Andrii "⁠npl⁠" Kukharskyi 1v4 clutch in round 21.

BetBoom encountered some resistance from Nemiga early on Train, but ended up securing a comfortable win after turning around the 2-5 start with a nearly flawless finish.

In the next-to-last pairing, NRG's surprise Anubis pick caught a rusty TYLOO off-guard, while the other Chinese team, Lynn Vision, picked up Asia's first win at the Major, against Legacy.

The round came to an end with the clash of twins, Adam "⁠adamb⁠" Ångström and Tim "⁠susp⁠" Ångström, which ended in Wildcard's 13-1 victory on Inferno, while FlyQuest had no issues brushing Fluxo aside on Ancient.
