The MongolZ roll over paiN to reach Austin Major finals
The MongolZ will be the first-ever East Asian team, and the youngest team to ever play in a Major grand final.

The MongolZ are headed to the grand finals of the BLAST.tv Austin Major, taking down South American underdogs paiN 2-0 for the honor.
While The MongolZ have been a common fixture in playoffs through 2024 and 2025, this will be their first LAN grand final since the ThunderPick World Championship 2024 Finals in November 2024, and their first-ever Big Event grand final.
The MongolZ now have the opportunity to secure their first Big Event trophy on the Major stage in Austin. Their only remaining opponents are the Goliaths of Vitality, who are hunting for their seventh trophy in a row. Although the Mongolian side have yet to score a best-of-three victory over Dan "apEX" Madesclaire's men, the team came tantalizingly close in their last meeting at IEM Dallas, falling 1-2 in a group-stage series that went the distance.

"I think right now we're playing our own playstyle," Sodbayar "Techno" Munkhbold shared shortly after The MongolZ's win. "It's working well."
"I think it's revenge time for us," he added regarding the impending final against Vitality.
The semi-final series kicked off on The MongolZ's selection of Mirage, where paiN built up a solid start on the CT-side, racking up a quick streak of five rounds thanks to the efforts of Lucas "nqz" Soares.
The MongolZ were unfazed by this early deficit, flipping a switch on the offense to scoop up the remaining seven rounds of their T-side. This dominance continued into their CT-side, as Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren's men were allowed to grab six more rounds completely unopposed.
paiN wrapped up the first map in dire straits, entering the final round of Mirage with two Glocks after Ayush "mzinho" Batbold killed two after time to obliterate the Brazillian side's economy, allowing The MongolZ to wrap up their pick 13-5.
paiN finally broke The MongolZ's 13-round streak with a pistol round win to kick off Anubis, but the Mongolian side immediately retorted with a force-buy victory that led to a streak of nine rounds in a row. Unlike on Mirage, paiN were able to muster a response, claiming the final two rounds of the half before claiming the first two on their T-side.
Unfortunately for paiN, a 1v2 clutch put a dent in their comeback hopes, giving The MongolZ the runway they needed to mop up Anubis 13-5 and send paiN packing from the Austin Major.
