JamYoung powers TYLOO to FISSURE Playground 1 victory

TYLOO claimed the #7 spot in the VRS after an impressive run through the first notable LAN of the season.

TYLOO have bested Astralis 3-1 in the best-of-five grand final of FISSURE Playground 1. TYLOO's first-ever LAN victory outside of Asia has netted them a whopping $290,000 grand prize, as well as a move to #7 in the VRS.

The two grand finalists clashed earlier in the event in wildly different circumstances, facing off in the group stage while TYLOO were forced to employ coach WeiJie "zhokiNg" Zhong as a stand-in for Dongkai "Jee" Ji. Despite the setback, TYLOO still emerged victorious, securing a 2-1 victory during their first meeting in the Serbian event.

Yi "JamYoung" Yang was a crucial factor in TYLOO's victories in both meetings with Astralis, posting an impressive 1.59 rating during their group stage clash and following that up with a similarly formidable 1.45 rating once taking on the Danes on stage. In the grand final, the star rifler pieced together an astounding 99.3 ADR, 0.97 KPR, and 1.76 impact rating en route to the trophy hoist.

TYLOO and Astralis will both be returning to action in short order, as the two sides are poised to take part in Stage 1 of IEM Cologne, kicking off on July 23.

TYLOO kicked things off by roaring out to a 4-0 lead on Inferno thanks to multi-kills by YuanZhang "Attacker" Sheng and Jingxiang "Mercury" Wang, constantly making good reads to hit understaffed bombsites with slick executes.

The Chinese side overcooked a slow-paced round against a half-buy, however, allowing Astralis a foothold in the half which they duly ran with back to an even score, helped along the way by a key Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen clutch.

HooXi insane 1v3 pistol clutch

Another fabulous HooXi clutch, this time a 1v3, opened the second half and allowed Astralis to take a commanding lead. Qianhao "Moseyuh" Chen and Mercury provided vital multi-kills to keep their team in the map, but HooXi stepped up once again, with an opening kill in one round and a multi-kill in the other, to get Astralis over the line.

Nuke was a completely one-sided affair as JamYoung and Jee ran riot to put Astralis to bed with ease.

Jee AWP 4K destroys Astralis

Jee's AWP was so mobile Astralis could never get a read on where he was playing from, whilst JamYoung found a multi-kill every time Astralis came near him. To cap things off Moseyuh and Mercury both produced an important clutch apiece when called upon, leading to an easy victory for TYLOO.

Mirage was not quite as straightforward for TYLOO, as the Chinese side immediately found themselves on the back foot after an Astralis pistol round win. A 1v3 from JamYoung and a 1v2 from Attacker allowed TYLOO to close the gap, but Astralis still emerged from their CT-side with a 7-5 lead.

JamYoung 1v3 stuns Astralis

TYLOO's own CT-side pistol victory allowed Mercury's men to take the lead for the first time on Mirage, but Astralis retorted with a string of offensive rounds, earning map point for the Danes and leaving the economy of TYLOO in tatters. Despite the setback, TYLOO rallied in the final four rounds of the half to force overtime, where the Chinese squad locked down Mirage 16-14.

TYLOO kept up their momentum into Ancient, cruising to a 5-0 lead thanks to a pistol round win and a hot start from JamYoung. Though Astralis managed to mitigate the damage later in the half, TYLOO still came out on top, securing a 7-5 lead after JamYoung ended the half with a 4k.

TYLOO snag pistol off another JamYoung 4k

Yet another quad kill from JamYoung in the second pistol round gave TYLOO room to further extend their lead, eventually putting themselves just three rounds out from a trophy hoist. Astralis were not content to simply roll over, racking up a streak of five rounds to tie up the match 10-10.

But just as it seemed the lead would fall out of their grasp, TYLOO composed themselves, laying claim to the final three rounds to lock down Ancient 13-10 and the series 3-1.

Not even zywoo would make a core of dupreeh, maden, and snappi good And as dupreeh said, its hard to focus on playing well, when players are getting switched every other day, and your spot on the team is NEVER safe Magisk was great on vitality in 2023, you dont just forget how to play He needs a STABLE team, and them speaking danish is also a plus

He's really not that washed, falcons dysfunctional and 1.09 anchoring off vitality. Obviously Zywoo raises their floor so he plays better by default but I remember all of the magisk highlights from his vitality season and there were quite a few. Bro can come back. copium.

problem of Astralis is that their main star rifler plays like a rat. That's not mean as an offense, rat is a name for a playstyle that revolves around everything but the big willy moves. Stavn doesn't posses an aim to win a 50-50 duel, his time to kill is something I can match after 30 minutes of aimbotz despite me not playing CS. He's probably the worst aimer out there, even old IGL's like Karrigan look insanely good compared to stavn. It's hard to win when you lack such a crucial piece of the puzzle, Staehr would do a 10x better job than Stavn in his roles. Astralis needs a star rifler who can swing and win
