rigoN returns to action with ENCE after BNE's disbandment in June

ENCE has announced the signing of Rigon "⁠rigoN⁠" Gashi, who has been without a team since the rebooted Bad News Eagles, the team in which he made several runs to the Major's Legend Stage in Antwerp, Rio and Paris in 2022-2023, disbanded before the summer break.

Bad News Eagles set to disband

The Swiss-Kosovar player had previously been in BIG from June 2024 through the end of that year, but his aggressive playstyle was a mismatch for the meticulous play of Johannes "⁠tabseN⁠" Wodarz's system in the German squad and ended with a parting of ways after just half a year.

Now, the 25-year-old will have the chance to prove his worth on an international roster for the first time since 2019 and 2020, when he first started to make waves in the tier two scene with Secret and c0ntact.

rigoN and BIG part ways

Outgoing to make place for the newcomer in the starting five is Lukas "⁠gla1ve⁠" Rossander, who has been moved to the bench after a year-and-a-half stint in ENCE, albeit one with little success as the team lost a core that contended for championships and started a rebuild around the IGL with mostly young and unproven players.

The Dane won't leave with an empty trophy cabinet, however, as he led ENCE to a victory on home soil at at Elisa Masters Espoo 2024. “A big thank you to Lukas for his time with us," says Niklas "Willkey" Ojalainen, ENCE's General Manager. "He has been a great player to work with, consistently working hard and giving his all at ENCE, and it was an honor to lift the trophy with Lukas at Elisa Masters Espoo.

"Unfortunately, we couldn’t achieve the level of success we aimed for as a team, so it's now time to look ahead and build for the future."

gla1ve's departure leaves the team's captaincy open, which will be taken over by Viktor "⁠sdy⁠" Orudzhev, a role the Ukrainian previously held during his time in Monte, when he took over in-game leadership ahead of the BLAST.tv Paris Major in 2023.

Additionally, ENCE announced that 20-year-old prospect Ville "⁠myltsi⁠" Vilkman, who was brought up from the academy team to take the place of Ninjas in Pyjamas loanee Kacper "⁠xKacpersky⁠" Gabara, has been signed on a trial basis to "allow both myltsi and the team to assess their compatibility and long-term potential."

ENCE promote myltsi to main roster

ENCE's new roster will make its debut at BLAST Bounty Season 2, starting August 5.

Majority of the trophies were in 2012 / 2013 where the only other good team was the Frenchie's in VeryGames, while the rest of the top players / teams still grinded 1.6 until they realized between start of 2013 to about 1/2 through 2013 that the cs 1.6 pro scene is dead and all events will either migrate to csgo or dissolve. My guess is that playstyle will change now that sdy is calling and podi might play more aggressively. But ENCE's biggest issue at the moment is inconsistency from younger players, which is kinda understandable. myltsi is in trial, so he can be replaced and demoted back to academy if needed, but if they find some awper that is obvious upgrade then they would be cooking.

Jimpphat in Academy was already a super-star in the anchor roles, you don't see that with podi and myltsi, it looked completely different. Let me be clear... I'm pretty sure that ENCE's rebuild isn't ready. They knew that signing of gla1ve had it's risks and it didn't pan out as they thought. sdy (igl) rigoN (entry) Neityu (anchor) myltsi still in trial and podi can be upgraded if there is some awper that fits to their playstyle. Besides gla1ve isn't the igl anymore with his slow calling style, so I expect more aggressive playstyle now that rigoN is signed.

Well, at some point i guess being the igl of a team that is in constant rebuild can be tiring. Seems a shitty position to be. Best of luck to sdy, he will need it because ENCE seems to be more focused on developing young talents and sell them (which isn't a bad focus, business are business after all).
