ESL Pro League Season 22Vitality end FaZe's fairytale run to make EPL final
A sprinkle of FaZe magic wasn't enough for a grand final spot.
Vitality have qualified for the ESL Pro League S22 grand final after defeating FaZe in a three-map series (Mirage 20-22, Inferno 13-9, Dust2 13-8).
"A normal FaZe game, it's always crazy coming up against these guys. They definitely have some magic about them, I don't know what it is," William "mezii" Merriman said in a post-match interview.
Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut and company will now face off against Falcons in the best-of-five grand final on Sunday at 17:00 after Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and company got the better of MOUZ in the first semi-final.

Mirage was the first battleground, with the teams engaging in prolonged forcebuy wars that were eventually ended by ZywOo's AWP at 4-3. Vitality then won nine rounds in a row to go up 11-3, but FaZe finally won their first gun round to give themselves a chance.
A spirited comeback attempt meant Finn "karrigan" Andersen's troops forced out triple overtime and stayed alive against nine map points to tie the scores at 18-18.
FaZe then made the most out of Helvijs "broky" Saukants joining Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken in the fragging department to finally take control of the game and eventually converting their one and only map point to take the map 22-20.
The chaos continued on Inferno, where FaZe came out on top in the opening exchanges to go 4-1 up. Vitality's economy then looked dead and buried, but a win with unarmored pistols meant that they went into the break just two rounds behind.
Twistzz then provided another highlight by killing four to turn a 2vs5, but Vitality dominated after getting their guns out. An eight-round streak on their offense made sure of their victory, with Robin "ropz" Kool's 1vs2 in the final round proving the final nail in the coffin.
Twistzz continued to impact the game as his fragging, coupled with that of David "frozen" Čerňanský, helped FaZe go from 1-5 to 5-7 despite ZywOo winning a stylish 1vs2.
FaZe seemed to have the chance to make it close once again after a solid start to the second half, but a half-buy victory by Dan "apEX" Madesclaire's MAG-7 and a saved ropz rifle threw a spanner in the works and allowed Vitality to close out a 13-8 victory alongside a grand final spot.
