OG to remove NBK - Report

A roster change could be on the cards for the international roster that kicked of 2021 in poor form.

Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt is on his way out of OG's active lineup, French outlet VaKarM has reported. The international team peaked at #6 in the world at the end of 2020, but started the year with underwhelming showings at cs_summit 7, BLAST Premier Spring Groups, and IEM Katowice.

Alongside NBK-, Issa "⁠ISSAA⁠" Murad was the most criticized player on the lineup, but it seems that the decision has been made and it is the Frenchmen that will be making way to refresh the lineup. In its report, VaKarM suggested "differences in in-game vision between NBK- and the rest of the team" as the reason for his removal.

NBK- could be looking for a new team soon

To fill the gap, OG are reportedly looking at benched players and those that were a part of organizations that closed their CS:GO division recently.

In a recent appearence on the HLTV Confirmed podcast, OG's in-game leader Aleksi "⁠Aleksib⁠" Virolainen admitted that the team was "having a lot of discussions" about their 2021 slump, with a bootcamp, six-man roster, and roster change all on the table.

The Finn also talked about ISSAA's specific situation, which forces him to play with a high ping during the online era, resulting in some underwhelming showings. "It's so hard because you don't know how long this COVID period is going to be and I know for a fact that ISSAA is like a 'glue' on LAN, he brings a lot of hype and he shoots better," the in-game leader said about the Jordanian.

If the report is confirmed, OG will have the following lineup:

Please get Ropz. Would be sick. He wants aswell leave his team and get into a new one. The only problem would be that he’s too expensive. Imo, ISSAA will start to perform once LAN is active again. Feels like his personality takes a hard hit from playing online and might or probably has had an effect on his performance. Many players have been effected neg. by the online era and ISSAA is one of them.

Filling the shoes of the entry fragger, support and the experience he brings with him will be an interesting one. I suppose the whole thing of him having a different in-game playstyle could pull the team down in certain situations. However, it's not as if he doesn't find impact regularly. Within most matches this year you can attribute a few of his decisions and plays to round wins. I just don't like the idea of removing one of the core players (outlined in the OG lineup video on their yt).

Well, aleksi kick from ence havent worked out tho, have it? And the overwelming number of people went wild on allu and sunny. So I see two ways to read this situation. Either you think pros are pussies who cant handle criticism and they break down because of that or that was a stupid roster move which people said is a dumb move and people knew better than pro players. Which is it? Regarding issa I would kick him as well lol. Seems like his good performance in og is how he played in hellraiser on the average day and he cant unleash his true self there.

It seems like odd movement after the interview but i belive that its not nbk performance that pushed the team into benching him. He prob asked for a change in the team / wanted to bring some player or some stuff like that, since nbk has a history with other cs teams its more likely that he was beign toxic or demanded something and the team denied it so he decided either to be benched or the team felt that they could never work with nbk mind. The way he talks in the interviews he comes across some "know-it-all" guy to me and with the situation in the team currently which was also heated at the time he left the french team, in that sense it doesn't suprise me. AleksiB in that sense is both a bonus and a burden, you have to leave all in game decisions to him to fully be able to utilize him leaving full trust in what he does, NBK was probably starting to question it which breaks the chemistry, rest of the guys probably doesn't have any prob with AleksiB's calling (yet). Tbh , ISSAA is good but inconsistent af. They should have kept NBK as he did perform above average and he is a much smarter player then all in OG with that kind of experience in his back If they really wanted to get some changes -ISSAA -NBK ( if they want to remove him ) + Olof / Flusha / JackZ And watching streams i feel GuardiaN can be a good pickup aswell , he is hitting shots and amazing flicks If they want to get rid of mantuu 🥲
