OG defeat BIG to win Spring Sweet Spring 2
Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså and Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski were the driving force for the international team's first title victory as a five.
OG have won Spring Sweet Spring 2 after defeating BIG 2-1 in the grand final to book a spot at LAN Sweet LAN 2022, an event to cap off Relog Media’s tournament series featuring all the monthly winners throughout the year. Both finalists received direct invites to the quarter-finals (alongside fnatic and FORZE), with Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's troops taking down 1win and Fiend, while Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz & co. beat Wisla Krakow and Entropiq en route to the final.
"We needed something like this just to boost the confidence and overall to get the team started on the right path," Aleksib said after the match. "We’re feeling super hot right now." OG will be looking to ride the momentum into IEM Summer tomorrow, when they will face Ninjas in Pyjamas in the best-of-one opening round at 16:30 .

The title decider commenced on BIG’s map pick of Dust2, a selection that has favoured the German squad with a 75% win rate across 20 maps. tabseN & co. looked sure to go on and win at 13-9, but OG refused to let up and pieced together a streak of their own. An incredible AWP ace from mantuu levelled the score at 13-13, with the international side pressing on to close out the map in the last round of regulation.
BIG came out swinging on Nuke to storm to a 12-3 CT scoreline with an impressive 11-round streak going their way. OG stepped up massively once on the defending side themselves, but the deficit proved too much as BIG held out for a 16-13 victory.
Both teams enjoyed small periods of success in the early stages of Mirage, but it was OG who stabilised first to begin to edge ahead. Spearheaded by consistent series performances from valde and mantuu, the international squad rapidly hit championship point at 15-7. BIG could only delay the inevitable briefly, though, as OG secured the win with a Deagle buy two rounds later.
