The South American team have bolstered their lineup following the departure of Santino "⁠try⁠" Rigal.

Luca "⁠Luken⁠" Nadotti and David "⁠dav1deuS⁠" Tapia Maldonado have joined 9z, the organization announced on Friday. The move comes shortly after the announcement of try joining 00NATION.

While this announcement would put 9z at six players, a report from ge has indicated that in-game leader Bruno "⁠BIT⁠" Fukuda Lima is in talks to potentially replace Alessandro "⁠Apoka⁠" Marcucci as the new coach of MIBR, should he so choose following the expiration of his contract with 9z.

Luken returns to activity after spending nearly 15 months on the sidelines

Luken previously represented 9z in 2019 before being picked up by Sharks, where he stayed for over a year, competing in both the ECS Season 8 Finals and ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals. dav1deuS most recently played with Paquetá, helping the team become strong contenders domestically as they placed top four at two RMR events, while he individually averaged a 1.18 rating over 2021.

9z is soon set to travel to Europe to compete in ESL Challenger February, having topped the South America qualifier. There they'll be pitted against the likes of FURIA, Virtus.pro, and Complexity in a chance to prove themselves internationally with their new composition.

My man above wasnt truly exact, luken played rifler or lurker when he was playing for arg teams, but he was 2nd awper in sharks and in his streams he plays awp almost every time and does great

because he's never been the main awper but he can awp at high level with no problem just like many other players(stewie or coldzera for example) He's just not a classic awper

Its risky, personally i didnt like the choose but there arent more awpers in SA. The other options were Martinez, and spanish,from Velox who is a beast and Remix, from Havan, Brazil. Try is a diamond, no one is a good replacement for him but luken is a legend, he need to recover his prime level and all will be fine

it is risky but 9z always makes risky moves, they moved try to the main team when he was 15yo and he also wasn't a main awper, now he's one of the best awpers in SA. Sometimes you have to take risks in order to success. And riflers picking up the awp role is rare but there's good examples like chrisj

It's just that 9z' playstyle was relying on awp a lot and it brought them succes, so changing that seems like a really bad move. But yeah, sometimes you have to take a risk.

However, i still think they'll figure out and luken sniping is looking sharp af, yesterday he 1v5 last dance with a scout, the clip is in 9z's twitter. What really worries me is the IGL, they had one of the best IGLs in SA, now it's pure firepower but i don't know how max will do on that role, and his impact will go down, probably.

Yes, what you talking about, crisj, cerq and art, always were main apwer, k0nfig always were 2nd awper. Crisj switch as rifler and was ebarrassing, he had to switch to main awper againg. Switch from awp to mian rifler is possible. The difficult is switch from rifler to main awper. Different timings, different poss, different reflex, everything change.
