niko benched from OG's starting roster

The 23-year-old has been moved to the bench and is free to explore his options elsewhere.

It has been confirmed that Nikolaj "⁠niko⁠" Kristensen has been relieved of his duties as a member of the active roster. The move comes after initial reports of both niko and Valdemar "⁠valde⁠" Bjørn Vangså getting benched earlier in the month, with the latter then confirmed to be out of the active roster.

niko was originally brought on to replace the outgoing Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt back in March of 2021, and has since achieved varying degrees of success with the organization, picking up a 2nd place finish at IEM Summer 2021, and 3rd-4th at ESL Pro League Season 14.

niko's future is now up in the air after being benched

Entering the new year OG acquired Nemanja "⁠nexa⁠" Isaković from G2, swapping in-game leaders and thus parting ways with long-time caller Aleksi "⁠Aleksib⁠" Virolainen. The transfer instantly gave a lot of OG's fans excitement moving forward, however a dismal last place finish at IEM Katowice and failing to qualify for the PGL Major Antwerp altogether were results that fell well below expectations.

"Sometimes good things must come to an end. I’ve been allowed to explore my options from OG and ready for a new adventure", niko said on his official Twitter account.

"I have absolutely loved every second of my time with what now feels like a second family and hope to see them center stage in the nearby future."

OG's current lineup is now:

Do you understand the difference between an individual and a corporation? Tim Cook is not worth a trillion dollars because apple is worth that. n0tails personal money has *nothing* to do with OG. OG is a private corporation, partially owned by some of the players, and partially funded by 2 of the players. Their TI winnings constitute a minimal amount to their funding, as most of that money is distributed to the players, and most of the players are not part of the ownership group.

In my opinion, if yekindar comes to OG, they definitely look better than VP on the paper. flamez is better than qikert or flit. mantuuu also have a better performance these days. If nexa can get back to sexa mode of 2019, I think OG's new roster is gonna be so good. Let's just compare with Ence's roster. Yekindar+flamez+jks maybe someone else, the firepower is as good as spinx+dycha+maden. mantuu is way better than hades obviously, and nexa is also better than snappi, well snappi is probably better at call.
