Brazilian quartet finalize Americas RMR SA closed qualifier list

Day two of the final South American open qualifier for the region's PGL Major Copenhagen Americas RMR closed qualifier has wrapped up.

In the end, four squads stood above the rest in the second edition of South America's open qualifier. Case and adalYamigos were the first to secure their necessary wins, soon followed by TIMACETA and Filhos de D10S, all teams who had previously reached day two of the first qualifier before being eliminated.

Case faced few difficulties during their second go-around in the open qualifier. A 13-10 scoreline against Hype to kick off the second day proved to be the toughest challenge they would encounter overall, as they swept AJF aside handily to be the first to reach the closed bracket.

adalYamigos and TIMACETA encountered their closest matches on the first day of play, with 13-10 and 13-9 scorelines against SOLOVE and PAUMOLECENCIA, respectively. Neither, however, would face issues on day two, with each side making quick work of their opponents to claim their closed qualifier spots.

The final place in the closed qualifier was ultimately filled by Filhos de D10S, who had a straightforward run to qualification until their final match. Before reaching the deciding BO3, no opponent had scored more than two rounds against Cristiano "⁠D10S⁠" Marques Sá Carvalho's troops.

inSanitY would be the one to buck the trend of pushover opponents, as the two squads tussled in double overtime on the first map of Ancient before Filhos de D10S managed to lock it down. inSanitY procured double-digit rounds on Inferno, but it was not enough to stop Filhos de D10S from snagging the last remaining spot.

The freshly-qualified teams will have some time to prepare for their next outing, as the closed qualifier is not scheduled to begin until January 19.

It's easy for you to say that now that they haven't qualified, but before the Open Qualifiers started almost everyone was expecting O Plano to at least make it to the closed qualify, don't be a seer of something that has already happened

I think people expected them to go through for pure nostalgia reasons, Brazil has SO MUCH young talent that is just simply better than having Taco, fnx and boltz on the same team in 2024... They were once great but their time is just gone, even Fer and Kngv are just mediocre now compared to young guys like Skullz, or the whole MiBR team, or the whole LOS team, the whole LEGACY team (except maybe NEKIZ, but I guess he is still a good enough IGL). This O Plano mix had some chances to qualify, sure, but everyone looking at it realistically could tell that those chances are pretty slim :)

I'm going to say the same thing I said to the other guy previously, you're seeing and analyzing the situation with the eyes of now, this team did have the potential to reach the closed qualifier, so much so that a lot of people, even foreigners, found it strange that they didn't have qualified... 8 spots, if it were 4 I would even give you a point, but 8 SPOTS, it's almost like an obligation, kng is an active pro, fer was Imperial's best player a while ago, fnx is ok, boltz was pro until 3 months ago and Taco is ok, I agree that SA's level has increased but it's still unjustifiable that they didn't get 1 of the 8 spots

They did have the potential, I agree. But I think you're simply overrating their abilities. The potential was there, but so it was for all the other teams, with younger and more hungry players... so in the end it was kinda expected. Of course they could've qualified and I don't think anyone would be surprised, which proves that the potential was there. But when compared to the other teams, these guys are simply outdated.

TIMACETA is a funny little name that says at the same time Team Arrow and Fuck you (as in sex, not as a swearing, but really Fuck you) SOLOVE is JustLove PAUMOLECENCIA is another funny little name that says at the same time Fussy (as in does nothing but wants something, mostly used when you want to date a girl or just have sex with her) and literally means LimpDick or LimpCock, whatever is fine
