Shanghai Major qualifier super-week set to start
Online qualifiers will run all around the world from August 21-30 to find the remaining 29 teams participating in the Europe, Americas and Asia RMRs.

The Perfect World Shanghai Major is more than three months away, but the first phase of the qualifying process for the premier competition is already due to start.
Online qualifiers will run in Europe, North and South America and all over Asia in a super-week taking place from August 21-30, to find the remaining 29 out of 56 teams participating in November's Regional Major Ranking tournaments.
Here's how it will all play out in each region:
Europe
Only the 16 best teams as per Valve's Regional Standings can breathe easy in Europe after they've been invited directly to the RMR.
Teams already at the RMRs (November 17-24)
After open qualifiers were removed in the region, the only way to enter the Europe RMR is through the closed qualifiers, to which another 32 teams received invites based on the Valve ranking.
The two tournaments will be played concurrently from August 21-23 in a Swiss format. The top eight teams in each group will advance to the RMR.
Closed qualifiers (August 21-23)
Americas
In the Americas, the eight highest-ranked teams according to Valve's Regional Standings have skipped the online qualifying stage and made it straight to the RMR.
Teams already at the RMR (November 12-15)
They will be joined by eight teams coming from closed qualifiers in North America and South America. Once again invited based on Valve's ranking, 16 teams will play in each sub-region for four spots at the RMR later this week:
Closed qualifiers (August 26-28)
Asia
Only three out of the eight participating teams in Asia have been directly invited to the RMR via Valve's Regional Standings:
Teams already at the RMR (November 11-14)
Five more teams will come from a series of two-stage qualifiers in China, Oceania, East Asia, Rest of Asia, and the Middle East, with each sub-region qualifying one team for the RMR.
This is the only region to retain open qualifiers due to the lack of data there, and these will be used to fill each sub-regional closed qualifier up to eight teams.
