Valve release Major-deciding ranking update

The teams set to receive invites to the StarLadder Budapest Major are now confirmed.

Valve has released the all-important October 6 regional standings update, which is set to dictate the invites for the upcoming StarLadder Major in Budapest, as well as BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 2.

The latest update has officially confirmed the teams that have been granted invitations to the Major, which are expected to be sent out on October 8. Vitality, Spirit, Falcons, MOUZ, and G2 are set to receive Stage 3 invites due to being ranked in the top five of the European VRS.

FURIA, paiN (Americas) and The MongolZ (Asia) will also enter Stage 3 after securing direct invites in their respective regions.

A further eight teams will enter the competition in Stage 2, set to begin on November 29. The European contingent consists of Aurora, Natus Vincere, Astralis, 3DMAX, and Liquid, with the quintet set to be joined by MIBR and Passion UA from the Americas and TYLOO from Asia.

Stage 1 will feature 16 invited teams. FaZe will come in as the highest-ranked team in the competition, with Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen's troops joined by the likes of Ninjas in Pyjamas and fnatic, with the latter securing their Major spot at the eleventh hour with their Fragadelphia win.

Legacy, Imperial, and NRG are the three highest-ranked Americas teams, while FlyQuest and Lynn Vision are among the Asian representatives.

The ranking update will also decide the invites for BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 2, set to be played from November 12-16. The four highest-ranked teams in the Global VRS standings, namely The MongolZ, FURIA, Vitality, and Spirit, are the first to have the chance to attend the Hong Kong event.
